Busby is named for Michael Busby who rebuilt the cabin in the 1970s. He added most of the craft touches. It was originally “Number 8” up until the early 1970s, one of the eight log cabins hired by Jim Harris to be constructed by a Swedish carpenter in the 1930’s for $60 a piece. Legend has it he worked through the winter. It is a winterized cabin and accommodates two, with a queen bed.
Our cabins at Burgdorf are simple and rustic. Remember they are sparsely furnished log cabins, so you need to come prepared. In each cabin, you can expect a wood-burning stove for heat and bed with a clean mattress, mattress cover, and sheet upon which to place your desired bedding or sleeping bag, as well as a table and chairs. The cabins do not have electricity or water. Outhouses are close by and firewood is on the porch. All cabins are within walking distance to the office and pool area.
