8 Weeks 30 Minute sessions
Once skaters are safe and comfortable moving across the ice, this level will focus on initiating movement by introducing basic skating concepts, including being able to stop! Skaters will progress from walking to skating, being able to push off and balance on each foot.
We provide plenty of coaches to support all skaters and would prefer parents/guardians to support from the sidelines.
Our rinks maintain an air temperature around 10C or less, so warm layers are a must! An insulated rain jacket will keep you warm and dry, and be sure to bring long socks. We strongly recommend that young skaters wear a well-fitted bike, ice hockey or ski helmet.
Ensure children wear layered, thermal clothing to stay comfortable on the ice.
Getting to the rink early helps with gear fitting and settling in before the lesson starts.
Listen carefully to coaching tips for safety and effective skill development.
Bring water to keep kids hydrated during breaks from skating.
Iceworld Olympic Ice Rinks was established in 1998 and has been a central hub for skating and winter sports in Brisbane ever since.
The rink follows eco-friendly practices like energy-efficient lighting and waste reduction to minimize environmental impact.
Wearing a helmet helps protect young skaters during falls.
Gloves keep hands warm and improve grip on skating aids.
