8 hours (divided into 2 sessions of 4 hours with a break between) The second session begins around 3 1/2 hours before sunset time.

Based on the Dingle Peninsula in Co. Kerry Ireland, this one-day, intensive photography workshop will give you the knowledge and confidence to move away from your automatic settings, giving you absolute control over your camera. To create a fabulous learning environment for everyone, this workshop is recommended for individuals and groups up to a maximum number of 4 participants, although you ultimately decide the size of your group when you book.

During this workshop we investigate a series of locations that are specially chosen to demonstrate various aspects of photography which include shutter speed, aperture, depth of field, light & composition among many others, before we finish the session with a look at low light and long exposure photography towards the evening. If you’re using a bridge or compact camera, we fully explore all the options that you have onboard to take better photos. If you’re using a phone camera, we can also look at creative apps that give you more control of your camera and we can also take some time out to edit our images using onboard and other editing apps.

  • All locations easily accessible from the minibus with no strenuous walking or climbing

Bring a fully charged camera battery

Shooting long exposure and low light images can quickly drain power, so extra batteries keep you in the moment.

Dress in layers for changing weather

The Atlantic coast can shift between sun and wind fast; breathable layers keep you comfortable all day.

Pack a sturdy tripod

Essential for long-exposure shots at sunset and steady framing during low light sessions.

Bring memory cards with plenty of space

You’ll be taking lots of shots; ample storage means no need to delete in the field.
