About

One of our greatest pleasures is riding through one of Texas' beautiful parks. At Maverick Horseback Riding, we adore the chance to get out and go. The Onion Creek Greenbelt in Southeast Austin is one of those places.

Onion Creek is a small tributary stream of the Colorado River and boasts gorgeous wild flowers, rocky terrain and plenty of water features. Visitors like to bird watch, look for wildlife, and just take in the surrounding nature.

Bring your helmets and wear your boots with a heel for riding.

Add on

Looking for an even longer adventure? Consider adding on a horseback tour through downtown Austin! We will go about 15 minutes from Onion Creek Park to the capitol building and ride around downtown before stopping to grab food at one of Austin's famous foodie spots.

This adds on approximately 3-4 hours to your ride, and costs an additional $200 per rider.


2 riders minimum for this ride, so if you are the first booking and you only have 1 in your party, there is a possibility that we may have to reschedule you to another ride that fulfills the 2 minimum, or we will treat your booking as a waiting list that can be rebooked to another date that meets the minimum.*
