About

The Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorial Complex holds a significant place in Poland's history, marked by the atrocities committed by the Nazi regime during World War II. This somber site serves as a reminder of the importance of preserving humanity. Visitors to the complex can view photographs, letters, documents, and learn about the victims who were held captive in the largest concentration camp in Europe.

The complex includes a museum, two concentration camps, and various other relics from the World War II period. It is estimated that nearly 1.3 million prisoners were held in this camp, with 1.1 million losing their lives. Some succumbed to illness, while others were used for clinical tests and research, and many were gassed to death. A visit to the site is not only to learn about the past but also to remember the importance of humanity, understand the horrors faced by those imprisoned there, and pay respects to the victims who did not survive.

A professional guide will accompany you during the tour, providing information about the different parts of the complex and the history and stories of the site.
