About

Prerequisite: ASA 101 Keelboat Sailing 1 & ASA 103 Basic Coastal Cruising or equivalent test-out.

Enter the big boat world and spend a weekend overnight on a boat 34-40' with three other students and a certified skipper. In this course you will take the skills from your previous courses and apply them to a larger boat. Additionally, you will learn how to troubleshoot common diesel engine problems, preparing you for a trip of your own.

Lesson Size: Minimum to run lesson: 3 students/lesson Maximum: 4 students/lesson

Please note that depending on the size of the boat, some students may need to share berths. If you have special requests, please let us know as soon as possible.

Lesson Schedule:

  • Day 1: 6 - 9 pm
  • Days 2 - 4: Depart at 9am on Day 2, return by 5pm on Day 4.

Note: Tipping your instructor is not required, but is greatly appreciated if you enjoyed your lesson. A typical tip ranges from 10–20% of the course cost. For multi-day courses or those with multiple instructors, it's common to tip $20–$50 per instructor per day. All tips go directly to the instructor.
