About This Adventure

Embark on an exciting 15-hour sailing course designed for beginners, covering essential skills like navigation, seamanship, and safety. Gain certification to crew on keelboats and prepare for advanced training. With small group sizes and flexible scheduling, this unique experience offers a perfect introduction to the world of sailing.

About

This 15-hour (+ 1-hour exam) course is designed for students who have either never sailed, or have been on the water and are ready to learn more. It is the perfect first step towards becoming a competent sailor. Upon completing, students will be certified to crew on keelboats and ready for the next level of training - ASA 102 Keelboat Sailing 2 and ASA 103 Basic Coastal Cruising. Please note: ASA 102 is not a prerequisite for ASA 103.

Important Information on Certifications: This is an American Sailing certification course. It corresponds to an internationally recognized curriculum and prepares you to take the certification exam. If you choose to get certified (more than 95% of our students do) there are ASA fees in addition to what you paid for the course itself. There is a $39 fee for American Sailing Student Registration Certification and each test carries a fee of $30. The certifications are good for life.


Lesson Size: Minimum to run lesson: 3 students/lesson Maximum: 4 students/lesson


Group Lesson Schedules:

2-Day Lesson Students must be available for the 2 consecutive days to join the lesson.

  • 2 days (either consecutively or Monday/Wednesday), 9am - 5pm each day

4-Evening Lesson (available May - mid August) Students must be available for all 4 consecutive sessions. Joining another weekday evening lesson session is not available.

  • Evenings, 5:30pm - 9pm (4 sessions for 2 consecutive weeks)

Note: Tipping your instructor is not required, but is greatly appreciated if you enjoyed your lesson. A typical tip ranges from 10–20% of the course cost. For multi-day courses or those with multiple instructors, it's common to tip $20–$50 per instructor per day. All tips go directly to the instructor.
