Join us on an enlightening journey through Scotland's breathtakingly beautiful scenery on the Arbroath Cliffs Geology Walk. Your adventure begins with 'Stories of Stone' – your expert guides and storytellers for navigating the rich geological and historical tapestry of Arbroath.

This immersive two and half hour exploration will lead you to the spectacular Arbroath cliffs, where you'll not only fall in love with the panoramic views but also deepen your understanding of the geological processes that have defined this landscape over millennia. You'll stroll through a time corridor spanning millions of years while marvelling at the stunning formations, dramatic cliff faces, and sea-eroded features.

Along the journey, our knowledgeable guides will unravel the intriguing tales hidden within the stones, bringing to the fore the historical relevance of the locale. You'll delve into geomorphology by understanding the unique and sometimes violent relationship between these cliffs and the sea, which has led to mesmerizing natural sculptures.

The Arbroath Cliffs Geology Walk is more than a guided tour; it's an enlightening journey into the bedrock of our planet's history. Join us and feel an awe-inspiring connection to the past and a profound appreciation for nature's endurance and creativity. One stone at a time, we'll walk, talk, learn, and explore, transforming your viewpoint on the world beneath your feet. We will start the walk at the base of the cliffs looking closely at Whiting Ness and the geological features. From there the tour will ascend the path to the top of the cliffs and the group will walk to Carlingheugh Bay and back again looking and stopping at key geological, geomorphological and historical points. There will be an opportunity to stop at Carlingheugh bay to have a cup of tea/coffee and biscuits/cake. If the group wishes we can descend down to the beach to look at Masons Cave and the pebbles on the beach to learn identification of rocks. If not there is a nice bench to sit at the top of the cliff looking over the bay and there will be a tray of pebbles to inspect show casing all the major geology of the local area. An amble back to Whiting Ness will give the group a chance to ask any questions and discuss the tours discoveries.
