Then, your guide will ensure you have all the warm gear you’ll need to drive your team.

Our very experienced guides are also amazing teachers. They will teach you the basics of driving the sled and handling the dogs. Then you will be pulled behind a snow machine to practice and get the feel for the sled. Your guide will then help you harness and hook up a small dog team and will go ahead of you on a snow machine. Cold weather drains batteries quickly; preserve power to capture stunning views of Mt. Susitna and Denali.

Follow guide instructions carefully

Mushing requires focus and attention to commands for the safety of both driver and dogs; listen closely to your guide.
