Drivers must bring their license with them to check-in.
Drivers must be at least 16-years-old or older and hold a current driver’s license. Passengers must be at least 6 years old. All drivers with passengers under 18 must be 21 or older.

The trailhead is only five minutes from the company’s Mountain Village office, learn about the old mining days and the early use of electricity while enjoying the spectacular scenery on this guided trail ride. Tours are offered three times a day (morning, afternoon, and evening) to this historic old mining camp. Tours are staged from our base facility located just minutes from Telluride. Single Rider: Drive your own snowmobile as a single rider, with no passenger on the back. To drive a snowmobile you must have a normal auto drivers license and be able to provide a valid ID.
Double Riders: Drive a snowmobile with one passenger on the back. Perfect for couples or parent and child duos. Driver of the snowmobile must have a normal auto drivers license and be able to provide a valid ID.
There is a 2 machine minimum to go out per departure time. If you book a single and no one else books you may be rescheduled.
A limited number of complimentary snow boots and snowsuits are available for use, but guests usually find that their own layered ski clothing is most comfortable.
Temperatures can drop quickly, so layering helps maintain comfort throughout the tour.
A driver’s license is required to operate a snowmobile in Colorado, so make sure it’s with you.
Safety is paramount on this off-trail route; stay attentive and respect guidelines.
Cell service can be spotty, but a charged phone is important for emergencies and photos.
Alta Ghost Town was a once-thriving silver mining community in the late 19th century, now preserved as a peaceful historic site.
Efforts are made to minimize impacts by following marked trails and practicing Leave No Trace principles to protect fragile alpine ecosystems.
