Join the AIARE 1 course for an immersive three-day experience in avalanche terrain. Learn essential decision-making tools to manage risks effectively while enjoying the stunning mountain scenery. With equipment provided, including splitboards and skis, this course promises an exciting adventure tailored to current weather and snow conditions.

The AIARE 1 is a three-day course that provides an introduction to using decision making tools to help a group manage risk while traveling in avalanche terrain.


Equipment provided but please bring your own boots. We have Avi kits and also splitboards and skis from Weston Backcountry. Snowshoes are NOT acceptable for this course.


Mountain venue will be determined by current weather and snowpack.
