About This Adventure

Join the Avalanche Rescue course, perfect for all skill levels, from beginners to seasoned backcountry adventurers. This one-day experience sharpens your skills and prepares you for AIARE 2. Learn essential rescue techniques in a dynamic mountain setting, with equipment available for rent to enhance your adventure.

Avalanche Rescue is for everyone, whether you are just learning how to use your transceiver, an aspiring professional, or a backcountry traveler with many years of backcountry experience. This one-day course is a place to both learn new skills and keep your existing skills sharp. Avalanche Rescue is a prerequisite for the AIARE 2.


Equipment not provided but available for rent. We have splitboards and skis from Weston Backcountry. Snowshoes are acceptable for this course. Avalanche kit will be provided.


Course meets at RMOC. Mountain venue will be determined by current weather and snowpack.
