Coastal Route between Es Port des Canonge and Banyalbufar
This coastal hike begins in the timeless fishing village of Es Port des Canonge, following a scenic trail along the Mediterranean through pine-scented paths and secluded pebble coves. Once used by fishermen, the route leads to Banyalbufar, passing natural and historical landmarks like an old lime kiln and the dramatic backdrop of the ‘Sierra de Tramuntana’. The journey ends with stunning views over Banyalbufar’s terraced hillsides before returning to Es Port des Canonge, where a refreshing swim in the cove completes this peaceful and picturesque experience that blends nature, tradition, and Mallorcan beauty.
The Hike Station Grading System: Beginner - Medium
Food & Beverages: Carrying ample drinking water is essential. There are no stores or other facilities along our trails. Fruit and energy bars are ideal for mid-way sustenance.
What to Bring: The Hike Station will provide for each person a small backpack. You should bring at least 1.5L of water per person, and snacks if you would like. Please bring your own: sun hat, sun cream, and swimwear for coastal hikes. Also ensure you bring any necessary medication or inhalers that you might require during the hike.
What to Wear: Suitable footwear, including socks (sports trainers are fine). Anyone wearing unsuitable footwear (such as flip-flops), or no socks, will not be able to hike. Ideally you should wear comfortable, quick-drying sportswear. A jacket or hoodie are recommended for sunset hikes, windy days, or rare cold days! We think black is best!
There are no stores along the route; carry at least 1.5 liters per person to stay hydrated.
Sports trainers or hiking shoes with socks are necessary—flip-flops are not permitted.
Don’t forget swimwear for a refreshing dip in the secluded coves at the end of the hike.
Bring a sun hat and sunscreen to guard against strong Mediterranean rays, especially in summer.
