Join us for a family-friendly tour based on the museum’s recently published children’s book, Adventures at Craftsman Farms with Teddy (A Craftsman Puppy). Designed for children ages 4 to 8, this interactive experience brings the story to life as children follow in the paw prints of Teddy, the Stickley Family’s dog, on a morning adventure around Craftsman Farms.
Through storytelling and creative props, young visitors are invited to imagine Craftsman Farms in 1911, a busy working farm and family home in the early 20th century. As the story unfolds, the grounds come to life with visits to locations of the former orchard and rose garden and the pasture where dairy cows Woodcrest Rachel and her calf George Washington once grazed. Along the way, children are introduced through storytelling to members of the Stickley Family, including Mr. Stickley, his wife Eda, daughters Mildred and Ruth, and granddaughter Barbara, helping them understand daily life, family roles, and the close relationship between people, animals, and the land during this period.
