About This Adventure

Experience a thrilling 2-hour guided horseback ride through stunning mountainous terrain, where vibrant wildflowers and towering Cow Parsnip create a picturesque backdrop. Enjoy the freedom of uphill trotting and capture breathtaking views perfect for photography. Whether with family or on a private adventure, this ride promises unforgettable memories in nature.

  • All-Age rides (Ages 7-99+): $220
  • Adult-Only Rides (Ages 18+): $250
  • Private Rides (First 3 people): Starting at $1320 ***20% gratuity added to groups of 6 or more.

Duration

2 Hours in the saddle plus 30 minutes for check-in process.

  • Family Rides include kids 7 yrs+

  • Upgrade to an Adult-only Ride

  • Scenic, Mountainous Terrain, Guided, Trotting Allowed, 18 yrs+.

  • The giant Cow Parsnip crowds the trails and towers over the heads of the horses, with its large green leaves and delicate, white flower.

  • Vibrant purple/blue Monkshood grows in a very special damp area of this trail, and only this trail. Wildflowers of all colors take turns crowding the sunny areas of the trails.

  • The views from the lookout points are perfect for the landscape photographer in the bunch.

  • A short section of beetle-kill mixed with new growth offers a cool respite from the summer sun.

  • However, you will not see the same area twice.

  • Regular contact with nature really does improve our well-being.

What to Bring

  • What to wear: long pants and sturdy shoes
  • We suggest bringing a camera, sunglasses, selfie-stick, sunscreen, and a koozie.
  • Helmets are provided and we have many loaner cowboy hats

We have parking. We also have a shuttle if you are on foot. It's a long, hot hike up the mountain. Text (970) 445-8204. We will pick you up at the Vail Transportation Center where the sign says "Bustang" just as soon as one of us is free to ditch our other duties. It's a white van with our logo.

For your safety, helmets are available and recommended even for experienced riders.

Plan for Shuttle Pickup if Walking Up

The uphill hike to the stables can be demanding; texting ahead allows for a shuttle ride from the Vail Transportation Center.
