You push off from the riverbank and the Sava takes charge — cool, bright water that cuts through the Gorenjska foothills with a steady patience. At first the raft slides through wide, glassy pools, the Pleiades of bubbles sparkling as oars dip and lift. Then the river narrows and the tempo changes: playful, splashy rapids send the bow up and down, laughter ricocheting off limestone walls. After 13 kilometers of river running you haul ashore, breath hot from exertion and cold from the water, and then climb a short forest track to a pair of 250-meter ziplines that span the river. From that cable the valley flattens beneath you — green fields, a ribbon of river, and the alpine teeth of the Karawanks in the distance.
