Cummings Cove Golf & Country Club is a private 18-hole mountain-style course set amid the Blue Ridge Mountains of Hendersonville, North Carolina. Known for its challenging, accuracy-focused layout and fast, true greens, it offers an engaging test for golfers seeking a blend of strategic play and scenic grandeur.

Course Overview

Set against the striking backdrop of the Blue Ridge Mountains, Cummings Cove Golf & Country Club presents an 18-hole mountain-style golf course that challenges and rewards in equal measure. Located in Hendersonville, North Carolina, this private course marries the natural contours of the landscape with carefully sculpted fairways and large, undulating greens. The setting offers players sweeping views of wooded ridges and valleys, creating an immersive experience where nature and golf intertwine seamlessly.

The layout demands strategic shot-making more than sheer distance. Tee shots often require accuracy to navigate tight corridors framed by towering pines, while the elevated greens test both approach precision and putting touch. While the course plays shorter than many championship tracks, its terrain and carefully designed holes call for a well-rounded game. Golfers who appreciate a course that challenges temperament and creativity will find plenty to engage them here. At the same time, thoughtful routing and generous landing areas offer playability for those at intermediate skill levels aiming to improve.

Cummings Cove’s greens are a standout feature, known for their smooth, fast surfaces that break subtly, adding an element of subtlety to putting. The course deliberately maintains a walking-friendly environment, with cart paths preserved to protect fairway conditions and guide players along the mountainous terrain. Walking is encouraged, but sturdy footwear is advisable given the elevation changes.

The clubhouse provides a warm, relaxed atmosphere where members and guests can unwind after rounds. Staff members are noted for their hospitality and attention, enhancing the overall visit. Visitors who rent clubs have praised the quality and convenience, making spontaneous visits feasible.

Seasonal changes bring distinct character to each round, with spring and summer offering lush greenery and panoramic views, making every visit unique.

Course Highlights

Group of 11 people came in 30 minutes late for their tee time and they were 1. Still allowed to play and 2. made to play right behind my party. For the first few holes, they continually shouted and made snarky comments at my party and I and when management was informed they did absolutely nothing. Only redeeming quality of this course is how pretty the views are

I was in Asheville for a wedding and I knew I wanted to squeeze in a round of golf. I'm blessed to have been able to play Cummings Cove Golf & Country Club. I don't know if the people that play there every week realize how lucky they are. I played in March. The trees were Brown but the landscape was out of this world. If I ever get a chance to get back there in the summer I'm definitely taking advantage of it. I've walked Augusta and cummings Cove reminded me very much of Augusta. The hills are magnificent. The summer views must be out of this world. What a beautiful place. Parking lot offers easy access to the course. The clubhouse is comfy cozy with kind and courteous staff. I rented clubs, they were great. I bought 6 golf balls, lost 4, I survived the Cove! Believe me it's no easy task to get through this course with one golf ball. You better bring your A game if you want to break 80. I shot 92 but I three putted at least nine greens. The greens are fast, straight and true, and break when they should. Just a phenomenal golf course that will take you away to another World. (Just like Augusta) Wow wish I could play there again tomorrow. I would highly recommend Cummings Cove. Don't miss it if you have the opportunity. 👍⛳️

What a beautiful course! Had a wonderful time here, wonderful staff, super good conditions and the views on some holes are incredible. Definitely will be coming back here again! Me and my uncle in law had a blast! So glad we chose this course.

At this time I rate it a 3 because hole 8 is closed and they are working on it. Don't know when they will open it up. It is basically 17 holes course at this time. They are working on the 1st hole fairway so it has been shortened. They are working on the golf course due to Helena storm but I hope it will come back later on this year.

Great gated community in which to live. Small enough to be very friendly with a nice golf course.

Played today and was very impressed with the course conditions. Keeping carts on paths for most holes really helps a lot. The greens are in great shape and roll very true. This is a true mountain style course. Not long but it is tight, although the greens are very big. Lots of movement on them but never unfair. We teed off at 1230 on a Saturday and found the pace of play to be excellent. This is a must play for this area. The views alone make it worth it while the layout is very memorable.
