Glenwood Springs Golf Club

Glenwood Springs, Colorado, USAWestern Colorado

Glenwood Springs Golf Club offers a scenic 9-hole mountain course that balances challenge with accessibility. Set amid stunning views of Mt. Sopris and the surrounding canyon, it welcomes golfers seeking engaging play in a relaxed, friendly setting.

Course Overview

Glenwood Springs Golf Club presents a refreshing take on the classic mountain golf experience with its scenic 9-hole layout set against the dramatic backdrop of Colorado’s Roaring Fork Valley. This public course offers an accessible yet engaging round for players eager to balance challenge with natural beauty. The design unfolds around gentle hills and mature trees, with several holes framing commanding views of Mt. Sopris and the winding canyon below. Here, every tee shot carries the quiet encouragement of clear mountain air and the subtle whispers of valley winds, which can influence club selection and tempo.

The course’s relatively compact yardage calls for well-placed shots rather than sheer power, making it a fitting test for golfers at all skill levels. From the wide, forgiving fairways to the greens guarded by carefully positioned bunkers, Glenwood Springs Golf Club encourages strategic play without overwhelming newcomers. Golfers often comment on the climb between holes, where a cart can ease the experience—ensuring that walkability remains an option but not a requirement.

Amenities complement the outdoor experience with a welcoming clubhouse bar menu, ideal for relaxing after a round or catching up with fellow players. Given the higher elevation, players should plan to stay hydrated, especially during warmer months, as the Colorado sun can be deceptively intense.

Visitors will find the course easy to locate, with straightforward access at 193 Sunny Acres Rd in Glenwood Springs. Its friendly staff contribute to a laid-back atmosphere, although it’s wise to inquire ahead about policies such as age requirements and the availability of carts. Whether you're dropping in for a casual nine or adding a golf break to an active Colorado trip, Glenwood Springs Golf Club offers a memorable mountain golf experience with a thoughtful balance of challenge and charm.

Course Highlights

The course’s standout elements include panoramic views of Mt. Sopris and the surrounding canyon, tree-lined fairways that balance openness and tactical shot-shaping, and an approachable layout ideal for golfers seeking an enjoyable mountain golf challenge in a compact 9-hole format.

Beautiful course, but it isn't too easy. It's a good challenge and with all the hills, I recommend a cart. You'll still walk plenty. They do have good bar food and drinks. Make sure you drink lots of water, you can get pretty dehydrated.

Inexpensive to walk, and easy to find. Well worth it! Beautiful views of Mt Sopris, and the canyon. Really cool 9h course to throw into the mix during a couple days in Glenwood

The best 9 hole course in the nation! Friendliest staff, the course is so well manicured, the tree lined fairways are humbling and the valley views are breathtaking.

For Father’s Day my husband wanted to take our daughter golfing but their age requirements are not clearly stated and she couldn’t tag along with him and they have a no refunds policy so we lost our money. Very poor experience with staff.
