Park City Golf Course

Park City, Utah, USAWasatch Range

Park City Golf Course is a well-maintained municipal 18-hole course set against Utah’s mountainous backdrop. Offering tree-lined fairways, thoughtful elevation changes, and smooth greens, it provides a challenging yet approachable round for golfers of all levels seeking a memorable experience near Park City’s vibrant town center.

Course Overview

Park City Golf Course offers a compelling test of golf within striking distance of Utah’s mountainous grandeur. This municipal 18-hole layout provides an accessible yet thoughtfully challenging experience for players of varied skill levels. The course winds through a series of tree-lined fairways and undulating greens that demand strategic shotmaking and careful club selection, especially given the elevation and its subtle influence on ball flight.

Set against the backdrop of Park City’s rugged landscape, the course balances natural beauty with precise conditioning. Each hole frames views of distant peaks and nearby residential enclaves, creating a setting both dynamic and inviting without overwhelming the player. While not a mountain track in the ruthless sense, the elevation changes and tree corridors enforce a distinct rhythm that rewards accuracy over power.

The fairways maintain a firm and fast character in the summer months, while the greens show meticulous upkeep, offering smooth surfaces that challenge your putting touch without veering into unpredictability. This blend of playability and strategic demand suits intermediate players looking to sharpen their creativity and low handicappers eager to explore challenging pin placements.

For golfers planning a visit, the course’s location on Thaynes Canyon Drive makes it easily accessible from downtown Park City, with ample parking and a straightforward path from the clubhouse to the first tee. Walking the course is encouraged, though players should be prepared for elevation-related exertion; comfortable shoes and hydration are essential. Golf carts are available for those wanting to preserve energy or keep pace, especially on warmer days.

Park City Golf Course complements its layout with a well-equipped practice area, offering range mats and short-game facilities to warm up or refine your swing. The friendly pro shop staff provide helpful local tips and ensure a smooth check-in.

While the course draws its identity from its setting and community atmosphere rather than signature architectural oddities, its consistent conditioning and mountain air combine to deliver a satisfying round. Whether playing for fun or preparation ahead of Park City’s more demanding courses, this municipal gem invites golfers to engage with a vibrant, approachable golfing scene amid stunning Utah scenery.

Course Highlights

The course features a tree-lined design that narrows fairways and emphasizes positional play. Elevation shifts introduce varied lies and distance challenges uncommon in typical municipal layouts. The central Wasatch mountain views contribute quietly to the ambiance without overshadowing playability. The practice facilities include range mats and a short game area, supporting preparation for all skill levels.

“Gorgeous Course, Great Staff, and One Man on a Mission to always be sneaking up on you mid swing” Park City Golf Course is a gem. Seriously — the mountain views are the kind of thing you'd expect to see on a luxury whiskey label. The fairways and greens? Pristine, like someone’s out there trimming them with nail scissors. And the Pro Shop crew? Absolute legends. Friendly, helpful, and somehow immune to the usual Park City snobbery that wafts through town like overpriced cologne. Yes, the green fees are steep. But so is everything in Park City — the prices, the altitude, the number of Teslas per square foot. You accept it. You’re here for the experience. And then... there’s the marshal. Or "player assistant" Oh, Mr player assistant. If you’ve ever wondered what it would be like to be micromanaged by a man in khaki shorts, fedora hat,and a golf cart, you’re in for a treat. He’s less a course official and more a sentient stopwatch. You could be walking briskly, swinging smoothly, and playing faster than the group ahead — doesn’t matter. He will find you. He will scold or scowl at you. And he will ruin your vibe faster than a shanked tee shot at altitude. The guy monitors pace-of-play like he’s auditioning for a Netflix docuseries: “Pace Police: Paranoia on the Fairways.” He hovers. He circles. He checks his imaginary clipboard with the intensity of someone managing air traffic, not a municipal golf course. It’s honestly impressive — in the way that raccoons solving trash can puzzles are impressive. But after your third unsolicited drive-by lecture, you start to wonder: is this a round of golf or a low-key psychological experiment? Bottom line: The course is five stars. The staff is top-notch. But unless the marshal gets promoted to a less interactive role — say, bunker maintenance on the moon — even solid players will think twice about coming back...but only for a minute. Because you know... We love the struggle.

A really cool golf course. Well maintained and a the staff was very nice. Practice facility was mats which is becoming the standard but I don't love it. A fun course just make sure you can hit a fairway or you'll be paying for a window in some of the most expensive houses in Park City.

What an amazing Muni course! I got to play here for the first time in June of 2024. We had a couple groups prepping for the Long Day tournament at Wasatch the next day. Course was in great shape! Pretty narrow with all the tree lined holes. Especially from the tips. We liked it so much we are playing it again next week with the same groups before The Long Day tournament! Book you a tee time here soon. You won't regret it!

Golf course and Marriott autograph collection hotel are in the same property. Our room balcony had lagoon and golf course view. All in all a great property, views, and golf experience.

Played the front 9 one day, and the back 9 another. Price was surprisingly fair. Parking was underground.
