Lakeview Golf Course

Meridian, Idaho, USATreasure Valley

Lakeview Golf Course in Meridian, Idaho, is a public 18-hole track designed for precision and playability. Featuring a parkland-style layout and well-maintained practice facilities, it caters to golfers aiming to improve their short game in a relaxed suburban setting.

Course Overview

Lakeview Golf Course, located just off W Talamore Blvd in Meridian, Idaho, offers a compact yet thoughtfully designed 18-hole layout that serves golfers with a range of abilities. This public course delivers an accessible golf experience with a friendly, community-focused atmosphere. Its relatively short yardage challenges players to focus on precision rather than power, making it especially appealing to beginners and mid-handicap golfers while still interesting enough for more experienced players seeking to sharpen their accuracy.

The course features a parkland-style design, with fairways lined by trees that occasionally frame the holes and bunkers that require strategic navigation. Greens are generally well-maintained and true, offering a subtle balance of challenge and fairness. Lakeview’s signature practice facilities stand out, including a driving range that extends over water, which tests both distance control and target focus. These amenities make it a prime destination not only for rounds but also for dedicated practice sessions.

Lakeview’s setting anchors itself in a quiet suburban area, giving the course a relaxed feel free from the distractions of busy commercial zones. While it lacks dramatic elevation changes or expansive natural hazards, its layout emphasizes shot placement and course management. This makes it an excellent choice for players focused on improving their short game and approach shots.

The clubhouse provides basic but comfortable amenities, including a casual dining area popular among local golfers. Although the course is public, some operational policies—particularly around online tee time booking and teaching restrictions—have sparked discussion within the community. Prospective visitors should prepare accordingly, especially if planning group lessons or hoping for flexible tee time arrangements.

Walking is welcomed, and the overall terrain is gentle, with smooth paths that contribute to an enjoyable pacing throughout the round. Players are advised to wear supportive footwear suitable for grass and occasional uneven footing typical of parkland courses.

For those in the Treasure Valley region, Lakeview offers a distinctive blend of approachable golf with solid practice opportunities. It’s a place where consistent play and focused improvement can meet on a friendly and well-tended course.

Course Highlights

Lakeview is distinguished by its water-front driving range that challenges distance control and target accuracy. The course’s parkland design places emphasis on strategic shot placement, with tree-lined fairways and protective bunkers guarding well-kept greens. The combination of approachable length and reliable practice amenities makes it an ideal venue for golfers developing their game under friendly conditions.

Lakeview is a great course! It has an awesome driving range where you hit the ball into a pond and the overall course is well taken care of. The greens are typically rolled really well and the overall grass on the course is pure. I would highly recommend this course for any golfer!

Heavens forbid a girl brings her family here… Let me preface this with the fact that I A. Am currently a professional golfer and B. Have formerly been a teaching professional. I have family members in the area and my nephews have been begging me to go practice with them. I had a few days near by so I asked if I could spend a couple hours with them at a course, and asked which course was closest to them. Lakeview was the easier median for us both so he dropped the kiddos off with me there where we had putting competitions, chipped (and took my money😂), and finished it off with a couple buckets of balls my brother had bought. Afterwards as we’re leaving I was chased down by whom I can only assume is the teaching professional, in the parking lot. He said that I cannot teach there, to which I responded as a previous teaching professional I completely understand, and that I was only there with my family hanging out and gave a couple pointers to (because they’re my family, duh?). He persisted on and on, my only reply was that it’s my family and I don’t understand the issue. I truly don’t understand the problem with spending time with my nephews and giving them a pointer or two, although now I will definitely avoid playing there ever again.

I’m honestly appalled to be writing this kind of review, especially after reading so many positive ones—but my experience needs to be heard. My friend and I were excited to play this course. Just as we were about to tee off from the blues, an employee—probably around 50 years old—asked if we were scratch golfers. When we told him we weren’t, he passive-aggressively told us to move up to the whites. He then proceeded to tell the group behind us that he could tell we weren’t scratch golfers just by the way we were dressed, which is apparently why he felt the need to question us—publicly embarrassing us in the process. The course itself was subpar. The staff? Even worse. I’m absolutely disgusted by the so-called “service” we received. I’d only consider coming back if the man who humiliated us is no longer employed there.

I will begin by saying I have always enjoyed playing at Lakeview. Great little course. However, the online tee time sign up process has gone too far. I will not input credit or debit card information on golf course websites. My cards are for "important" payments. There are already far too many scams and data breaches occurring for all of us to worry about. I golf most of the courses around the valley and make my tee times online for some of those, but they don't go to this extreme. And, the majority of courses still have an open phone line to call for tee times.

Used to love playing here, sometimes still do but they almost doubled their price since just last year, charging people like it’s a top quality course when it’s not at all, last time I played ended up paying 75$ and got rained out, please just lower your prices to what they used to be. Eagle hills charges less and is way nicer

Lakeview golf course is a gem here in the treasure valley. The course is always in good shape with some fast rolling greens that can challenge anyone. Great practice facilities as well as a dining area, I’d highly recommend anyone to come here and enjoy a round!
