Woodhaven Golf Course

Daniels, West Virginia, USASouthern West Virginia

Woodhaven Golf Course combines a rugged mountain setting with an 18-hole layout that challenges players through elevation changes, strategic blind shots, and well-protected greens. Located at Glade Springs Resort, the course offers a distinctive mountain golf experience with wide fairways and consistently top-tier maintenance.

Course Overview

Woodhaven Golf Course, located in Daniels, West Virginia, is a striking 18-hole layout that tests both strategic thinking and shot-making ability amidst its rugged mountain setting. As part of Glade Springs Resort, this public course embraces the natural contours of the Appalachian terrain, offering wide fairways that wind through dense forests and rolling hills. Golfers will encounter well-maintained, undulating greens guarded by natural bunkers and occasional out-of-bounds areas that reward accuracy and careful club selection.

The landscape plays an active role, with elevation changes that influence shot trajectory and distance judgment. Several holes present blind tee shots, challenging players to trust both their swing and course knowledge, often gained from the resident pros or detailed scorecard notes. The pace of play is paced thoughtfully, supported by unrestricted, gas-powered golf carts that make navigating the hilly environment manageable. Walking is possible but requires stamina and suited footwear due to the terrain.

Woodhaven welcomes players of varying skill levels, though its rugged character and strategic challenges particularly appeal to mid- and low-handicap golfers seeking a memorable mountain golf experience. The wide fairways provide ample room for less experienced players, while the subtle green breaks and elevation shifts keep more advanced players engaged. The course’s conditioning stands out, with smooth, fast greens and fairways that remain lush throughout the playing season thanks to attentive maintenance led by Golf Director Matt Felber and his dedicated grounds crew.

Beyond the course itself, The Haven Club House offers a comfortable spot for pre- and post-round meals, featuring a pro shop staffed with knowledgeable personnel eager to assist players with equipment, advice, or tee-time bookings. The friendly course staff, praised for their professionalism and welcoming attitude, complete the experience.

Whether seeking a challenging mountain round or simply an escape into a scenic, forested environment, Woodhaven Golf Course delivers a rewarding test of golf that encourages strategic play and respect for its natural landscape.

Course Highlights

Very challenging course. Had a great time. Wide fairways, good-sized greens, and well taken care of. Throw in a minus 1 star for the day I played it was cart path only. Carts are definitely a needed convenience on this course.

The Woodhaven course at Glade Spring Resorts was an amazing mountain golf experience that was all excitement and challenge! The course was extremely well maintained and immaculate. If my cell was charged, I would have photographed many beautiful holes. Every single employee treated me like royalty. Starting with Cody, who was the young starter who greeted me with a golf cart and gave me the best intel and strategy for the course. All of the grounds staff were cordial, professional, and endearing. My high regards to Matt, the director of golf, for running a top-notch team. I shall return with friends to play all 3 courses. The course is very hilly and the gas golf carts are unrestricted and fast. Drive safely. God bless!
