Course Overview
Dixie Red Hills Golf Course in St. George, Utah, presents a striking nine-hole layout framed by the vibrant reds and ochres of the surrounding desert landscape. This public course offers 2,775 yards of golf that blend playability with scenic variety, making it an inviting option for both casual players and those seeking a quick yet stimulating round. The course’s parkland-style design relies on the natural contours of the foothills, integrating elevation changes and strategic bunkering that shape thoughtful tee-to-green decisions.
From the first tee, players are greeted by sweeping views of towering red rock formations that push the visual boundaries beyond the fairways. These geological markers don't just offer a stunning backdrop—they factor into play with wind patterns that can subtly shift momentum in your swing. The layout is approachable for all skill levels, though the multi-tiered greens demand precise distance control and reading of subtle breaks. Shots played with the grain roll out swiftly, while those against it test patience and putting technique.
Hole three stands out with its challenging 90-degree dogleg left that encourages thoughtful shot shaping. Many players find success fading the ball right-to-left here, avoiding thick tree lines and natural rock obstacles that guard the hole’s flanks. Well-placed bunkers protect the greens and add a layer of strategy, rewarding course management over brute force.
Course conditions are consistently well-maintained, with firm fairways and turf that holds up well under play. Though limited to nine holes, this venue offers an efficient alternative for golfers seeking a scenic, quick round without sacrificing quality. Players using carts find their pace sped up, though walking is easy thanks to gentle slopes and clear pathways.
Amenities include a modest clubhouse and practice facilities, though visitors should note the driving range is somewhat tucked away and less obvious at first glance. Customer experiences can vary, so reserving tee times ahead is advised to ensure smooth access.
Dixie Red Hills Golf Course invites players to engage with an authentic desert golf experience where vivid colors and strategic design combine for a memorable outing in Southern Utah.
Course Highlights
The course is distinguished by its vibrant desert setting and elevation changes that influence shot selection. Best of the city courses in Saint George for shade and a green course with beautiful views.

Awesome golf course! First time playing here and just amazing views surrounded by red rock! I wish this was an 18 hole course.

We just golfed here as a family over spring break. It was so beautiful! Great to do as a family. We did a scramble to keep us moving. Such a well kept golf course! We want to come here again.

This is going to be my go to place for a quick 9 from now on when I’m in St George. It’s a beautiful little course that has a challenging layout and greens. Putting into the grain is slow, but with the grain is like extremely quick. I love that kind of a challenge on the greens. Multi tiered greens, doglegs, well placed bunkers… makes it interesting. The conditions were great when I was there. From the tees to the greens, the turf was in excellent condition. Can’t wait to come back.

This is a neat little course with some great views and challenging holes. Too bad it’s not 18 holes. Also, the driving range access was not obvious to this first timer. I didn’t think there was one driving in. Pro guide tip/spoiler alert: if you go with a tee shot on hole three, 90 degree dogleg left, over the giant rock left (think Golden Tee) you’re in the trees (those insidious designers!) unless you hit a good fade for right handers; I found out the hard way. The course was in good shape in early spring 2025. We had cancelled our round-at the last minute-a few days earlier due to torrential rains. The counter man/starter actually advised us to reschedule due to course conditions with no financial penalty. Thank you sir! Definitely worth a quick round of nine. A cart speeds up play, but carrying or hand carting is not a problem. It’s not a ‘destination’ golf course; but I’ll be back! The setting is quite unique. Check out the view from the Elks club parking lot above the course.

Would love to give a 5 star review for the beautiful course! But honestly the customer service was a let down! Nice at first but here it is....... Already Sucks that they only allow 10min tee time in between people because thats way to little time.... Especially for people who want to go play for fun or learn! So because we let the people go ahead of us a few seconds... the girl (teenager) working at the counter, Zoey.... Came out power tripping and said we cant do that.... We do understand the rules of the place but was unnecessary to call us out on the intercom after she came outside and told us! We were excited to play on this beautiful course.... But completely ruined our experience right from the start.... In the end, we made it known to the Gentleman working at the counter, that our experience with "Zoey", which he said was her name....was very unpleasant and that her customer service needed work.... He didn't apologize, nor show any empathy towards the situation! I understand we might have been in the wrong since we havnt been hete before but i think that there could have been a better way to handle the situation instead if being rude!

Hate how you get dismissed whenever you call in for a tee time…. Immediately get referred to the website (which isn’t user friendly) gonna have to stick with expensive sky mountain or random course sunbrook (they will book for you when you call)
