Hidden Creek Golf Course

Litchfield, New Hampshire, USASouthern New Hampshire

Hidden Creek Golf Course in Litchfield, NH invites golfers to a 9-hole layout combining tight fairways with open scoring zones. This public course balances accessible play with strategic demands, ideal for those seeking an affordable and walkable New England golf experience.

Course Overview

Hidden Creek Golf Course presents a 9-hole challenge set among the rolling terrain of Litchfield, New Hampshire. This public course offers players a straightforward layout that combines a mix of tighter fairways with open scoring opportunities, demanding accuracy and smart shot selection. Designed for everyday golfers seeking an accessible yet engaging test, Hidden Creek’s fairways thread through modest elevations and mature trees, creating moments of visual interest and requiring a steady approach off the tee.

The course’s signature qualities emerge in its variety of holes—some tight and tree-lined, where strategy governs strategy rather than distance, paired with more generous landing areas that reward confident, attacking play. Greens have sparked mixed reviews; a few require care to maintain consistent speed and smoothness, influencing how players approach their putting strokes. Despite this, the layout’s natural contours provide an inviting experience for golfers who appreciate a walkable course and a no-frills environment.

Facilities include a modest practice area, appreciated for warming up and honing short game skills before heading out. Staff interactions vary, with some visitors remarking on courteous service, although operational efficiency appears to fluctuate during busy periods, potentially affecting pace of play. Golfers should plan accordingly, allowing extra time especially on weekends or warmer months.

The course’s setting within New England’s changing seasons offers subtle scenic transitions—from fresh spring growth to vibrant autumn colors—adding seasonal character to each round. Walking is encouraged but players should wear appropriate footwear for varied turf conditions, particularly in early spring and late fall. Carts are available on request, but a walking round will enhance one’s engagement with the course’s modest elevation changes and natural drainage.

For local players and visitors seeking an affordable, approachable option, Hidden Creek Golf Course offers a solid outing. It suits golfers aiming to refine their game in a low-pressure setting that balances practical playability with enough subtle challenges to make each hole memorable.

Great course, great staff. Tee times are spaced enough you don't have to wait more than a minute or two for the group in front to clear the green on the par 3's and short 4's. One green needs repair but overall worth the $50 per person with cart.

Play was very slow and our tee time went off about 30 minutes late. Course wasn't in great condition. Putting green was much faster than the greens on the course. $50 for 9 holes & cart for this course is way too much.

One of the worst golf experiences I’ve had. The fairways are in rough shape — patchy, overgrown, and clearly not maintained. The greens are just as bad — incredibly slow and uneven, making putting a total guesswork game. The real kicker, though, is the staff. The starter and the guy behind the register seem completely clueless. No idea how to manage tee times, which led to total chaos at the first tee. We waited forever to get started, and the round dragged on painfully due to the lack of pace control. Between the poorly kept course and the disorganized, unhelpful staff, this place is a hard pass. I won’t be playing here again and wouldn’t recommend it to anyone looking for a decent round of golf.

For the last few years the greens have lacked and need improvements, especially for how much it costs to play. Better off with the 18 hole course up the road @Passaconway or @Derryfield which is not far either. The practice facility is the only reason why I’m giving it 3 stars.

The old guy running things was so smug and arrogant. He was rude and condescending and obviously bothered by me and my daughter being new and unsure of how things were set up. I sensed his bad attitude the second I walked in to the office. Just a real jerk. I wanted to teach my daughter who was home on leave from the military how to play golf and just enjoy the day but we were too slow and he chased us down twice to tell us that. I knew he would harass us all day so I asked if we could just go to the driving range instead. “Driving Range is closed”. Very rude. He did refund us which was fair but he was rude about that too. If you’re new to golf then don’t even try to play here. It’s meant for retired old men who have been playing there for years. We didn’t even make it off the first hole. Only hit the ball twice. We started late because there were people on the fairway in front of us. Apparently we were supposed to be with that “group” but nobody told me that. I thought it would be just me and my daughter so we waited until it was all clear. Anyway. Just a terrible experience. Can’t stress enough what a jerk this guy was.

This is a fun track. Greens were really slow, but played in April. Some very tight fairways and interesting holes.
