Dunegrass Golf Club

Old Orchard Beach, Maine, USASouthern Maine Coast

Dunegrass Golf Club provides an inviting 18-hole parkland layout along Maine’s southern coast, combining approachable playability with coastal scenery. Its well-positioned bunkers and receptive greens offer a satisfying challenge for players of varying skill levels amid breezy, wood-lined fairways.

Course Overview

Dunegrass Golf Club, located in Old Orchard Beach, Maine, presents a finely balanced 18-hole layout that blends readability with scenic diversity. This semi-private course welcomes a variety of players, from weekend enthusiasts to those seeking a refreshing challenge without the intimidation of relentless difficulty. The design leans toward a parkland style, weaving through pockets of residential neighborhoods and open fairways framed by mature pines and coastal breezes that subtly factor into club selection and shot execution.

Scenic views punctuate the round, particularly along holes where gentle elevation changes offer glimpses of the nearby Atlantic coastline and surrounding woodlands. The course features generous fairways allowing for strategic play; however, well-placed bunkers and thoughtfully contoured greens test accuracy and touch around the putting surfaces. The often-variable New England winds add an unpredictable element, encouraging careful shot management.

Playability at Dunegrass is approachable, with tee boxes thoughtfully arranged to suit a broad range of handicaps. This makes it an inviting venue for both casual players and those refining their game. The course’s firm but receptive greens respond well to a variety of shot types, rewarding creativity and precision.

Off the course, the clubhouse offers a comfortable hub for members and guests, with quality food service that complements the experience despite some golfers noting a desire for quicker turnaround on mid-round snacks. The clubhouse also acts as a social center where local events and gatherings enhance the communal atmosphere.

Walking the course is encouraged, with generally smooth terrain and no extreme elevation shifts, although sturdy footwear is advisable due to occasional dampness typical to coastal New England. Golf carts are available by request, making it adaptable to different preferences and physical comfort.

Strategically placed holes alongside home sites provide a blend of challenge and charm without feeling intrusive, highlighting an experience that balances the natural landscape with thoughtful golf architecture. Whether seeking a relaxed early morning round or a competitive afternoon test, Dunegrass Golf Club offers a welcoming gateway to Maine golf with authentic coastal character and practical layout design.

Course Highlights

The clubhouse serves as a social centerpiece with quality dining options, making Dunegrass both a day-long golf destination and event venue.

Absolutely gorgeous place - service was exceptional. Pat Foley’s music entertained the night away with the Dune Grass Choir joining a couple of crowd favorites and the food was delicious. 5 star in my book!!

We are so happy with our decision to have our wedding at Dunegrass. Brianna was so great to work with, always so easy-going, answered my (thousands of) questions quickly, and was flexible with meeting us either on the phone, zoom, or in-person. We had our wedding ceremony moved inside due to the rain and Brianna and her team did a great job setting up indoors. All of the staff was professional and kind. The food was AMAZING, all the passed appetizers and the meals were to die for. Brianna and her team worked well with all of our vendors and was very detail-oriented throughout the entire process while maintaining a big smile and wonderful attitude. I would recommend Brianna and Dunegrass to anyone and would 100% do my wedding at Dunegrass again!

Gorham Senior Prom 2025 was held at this beautiful location. I didn't make it inside, but the outside was breathtaking! Great choice GHS!

Decent course. Absolutely wild that they don’t have hot dogs ready to go on the turn. Seems like such an easy way to feed golfers instead of making them wait 10-15 mins.
