Course Overview
Located in the heart of Los Angeles, Rancho Park Golf Academy offers a distinctive golfing experience that blends urban accessibility with thoughtful course design. This public golf facility features an 18-hole layout that challenges golfers while accommodating all levels of play. The course gradually unfolds across gently rolling hills and soft valleys, providing a natural rhythm that shapes each round. Tight fairways occasionally demand precision, but the varied terrain ensures players can find lines that suit their skill set.
Beyond the main course, Rancho Park Golf Academy presents a 9-hole Executive Par-3 course, perfect for beginners honing their swing or for experienced players seeking a quick but focused practice session. The academy excels as a comprehensive training ground with its two-level driving range, offering elevated and flat-tiered bays. Equipment rentals, including clubs, bags, and balls, make it easy for visitors arriving without gear to step directly into their round.
The course’s greens stand out as well-maintained, slightly sloped putting surfaces guarded by strategically placed bunkers. These features require thought and touch, turning what might have been routine putts into tests of patience and precision. The layout’s moderate hills and occasional narrow approaches add subtle challenges without overwhelming less experienced players, making Rancho Park a versatile venue where both novices and seasoned amateurs can find enjoyment.
The setting itself feels surprisingly serene given its central city location. Tall trees flank portions of the course, while soft mounds and undulations create visual interest and shot-shaping opportunities. One unique scene awaits at the 9th hole during twilight when the setting sun paints the sky orange and pink, perfectly framing a memorable finish to the front nine.
Rancho Park Golf Academy prioritizes accessibility and practice, with attentive staff and a welcoming environment that encourages walk-ins and casual rounds. For those visiting Los Angeles who want a blend of challenge, convenience, and quality instruction, Rancho Park provides a practical yet engaging golfing destination.

A beautiful gold course withal an area for putting practice, a driving range, food, and a decent sized golf course (for the LA area). The staff was friendly even the maintenance man was super nice! The grass was soft and sprawling hills looked like a decent challenge. It even had a decently tall fence to protect the local area because it is smack dab in the middle of town.

Close from Los Angeles and Santa Monica. Courses are fun. Little hills and valleys. Personally like to play at twilight after it cools off and sunset on from the 9th hole is amusing. Recommend it, but I hope it does not get too popular. it's hard to reserve tee off already.

a good, central location near beverly hills & century city. rancho club includes: - Full 18-hole course (have never played, though) - Par-3, 9-Hole Executive course available if you are short on time, a beginner, or need some swing practice with that damn n’ delicate pitching wedge, er with some of your lower irons - Two-Level/2-Tiered Deck Driving Range - Clubs, golf bags, golf bag rolling carts, golf balls, etc. are avail to rent - A couple, fairly decently-maintained practice putting greens throughout the grounds

I mean, Arnold Palmer shot a 12 on 18. I shot a 9...so yeah. I'm better than Arnold Palmer. I only played back nine for the first time. Difficult! Hilly 9 holes, some narrow fairways, greens have some slope and are fairly protected. I found it challenging and look forward to play 18 some day, if I can ever find a tee time... I'm a 16 handicap...hole 18 isn't as hard as me and Arnie make it look.

It has been years since someone has treated me the way Coach Steven Vilts did. I was using a teaching stall, which guests are allowed to use unless an instructor is teaching. He walked up to the stall and said, “You may use this stall until my student arrives.” I replied with, “Understood. When does the lesson start?” He snapped back with the exact words, “Excuse me? Did you hear what I said?” And reiterated his statement. He followed up with, “…and by the way, welcome to golf,” which I presume was an insult to my golf skills. I am young (early 20’s) but I am not new to the game; I proceeded with my next shot. Upon observing it, he took back what he said, and then took my bucket of balls and brought it to another stall and said, “I’m gonna have you take this stall. You’re welcome.” His student never showed up and he left after ten minutes, but kept his gear in the stall. I was hanging out with my friend who was originally in the adjacent stall to me, so this cut our time together short for no reason in the end. I thought Steven was a nice guy. I’ve been to Rancho Park easily over 100 times—I almost solely practice there—and I see him there all the time. Sadly, I will be continuing my practices elsewhere.
