Course Overview
Mission Lakes Country Club, located in Desert Hot Springs, California, offers an 18-hole championship layout that blends desert openness with classic golf design. This private course presents a playing experience defined by wide fairways and carefully maintained greens that reward precision and thoughtful shot-making. The terrain opens calmly to the surrounding San Jacinto and Little San Bernardino Mountains, their rugged outlines framing the course with a steady presence that enhances each round without overpowering the play.
The course’s open layout features few trees, encouraging a strategic approach where wind and elevation subtly influence club selection. Players will find certain holes present intriguing challenges, particularly the greens, which players have described as softly contoured yet fast, requiring deliberate pace control akin to putting on plush memory foam. This mix of firmness and responsiveness invites players across skill levels to engage with the course thoughtfully, balancing approach shots and putting with an emphasis on accuracy.
Mission Lakes offers a clean, well-manicured golfing environment. The generous fairways provide ample landing areas, making it approachable for mid to high handicappers, while still demanding careful navigation for lower handicappers seeking a competitive test. Light desert breezes often lend an additional layer of difficulty, prompting adjustments in swing tempo and shot trajectory throughout the day.
Off the course, the San Jacinto Dining Room stands out for its panoramic valley views and welcoming atmosphere. It’s an ideal spot to reflect on the round or enjoy a well-prepared meal, from casual fare to the standout fish and chips highly recommended by guests. The friendly and attentive staff contribute to an inviting clubhouse experience.
For visiting golfers planning their trip, walking is encouraged to fully appreciate the course’s subtle elevation changes and desert ambiance, though carts are available on request. Comfortable footwear suited to dry conditions will make the round more enjoyable. Whether you seek a friendly game with generous fairways or the challenge of greens that demand finesse, Mission Lakes Country Club delivers a polished, desert-flavored golf outing with a welcoming spirit.

Very nice fairways. Couple wow holes! Greens are kind of like walking on memory foam but they roll surprisingly fast and somewhat true.

Golfed here on a beautiful warm afternoon. The wind was very light, and the course is in exceptional condition. The greens were great - fast and true. The staff are very friendly as well. I thought the price was a little steep.

We are visiting in Palm Springs and searching for all the Desert X exhibits. While up in Desert Hot Springs to find the 3 art exhibits there, we had someone tell us that we had to check out the Mission Lakes Country Club for lunch. Boy, are we glad we did! The San Jacinto Dining Room provides an amazing view of the valley, staff were super friendly and complete strangers came to talk to us and welcome us to Palm Springs. Great service, and as for the food, it was the best fish and chips that I have ever had, and I've had a lot of fish and chips up and down the Pacific coast and in Britain.

Great course with beautiful mountain views. Fairways are very wide with a few trees. Greens are challenging. Course was well manicured. Cafe food was good as was the pro shop. I'd play here again.
