Chattanooga Golf and Country Club

Chattanooga, Tennessee, USASoutheastern United States

Chattanooga Golf and Country Club presents a classic 18-hole private course that combines strategic shot-making with inviting parkland terrain. With well-maintained greens and a seamless flow through rolling hills, this course offers a rewarding challenge for golfers who appreciate precision and natural beauty.

Course Overview

Chattanooga Golf and Country Club offers an 18-hole private championship course that challenges players with a thoughtfully crafted layout set amid rolling terrain and mature trees. Located just minutes from downtown Chattanooga, Tennessee, the course provides an engaging test for golfers of varied skill levels while rewarding precision and strategic thinking.

The course unfolds across gently undulating fairways that demand both accuracy off the tee and a keen eye for approach shots. Its parkland-style character is defined by well-placed bunkers and subtle elevation changes, which shape each hole’s distinct personality. Water comes into play selectively, adding a layer of complexity and requiring careful club selection, particularly on the closing stretch.

Among the highlights are several par 4s that emphasize shot placement to avoid traps guarding the greens. Greens are meticulously maintained, presenting subtle breaks that test a player’s putting ability without feeling punitive. The routing sustains a natural rhythm, allowing golfers to appreciate the quiet, verdant surroundings without disrupting the pace of play.

The clubhouse serves as a warm and inviting hub, featuring classic Southern hospitality alongside modern amenities. Members enjoy access to well-appointed locker rooms, practice facilities, and dining options that blend casual and formal settings. Walking is welcomed and encouraged; the terrain supports comfortable foot travel, and players are advised to wear supportive footwear to navigate the minor hills and occasional slopes.

Chattanooga Golf and Country Club’s appeal lies in its balance of challenge and playability, making it suitable for both mid and low handicappers seeking a refined experience in a private environment. The staff's attentiveness and the club’s well-maintained grounds enhance every round, ensuring that first-time visitors and longtime members alike find satisfaction on the course.

For golfers planning a visit, early morning or late afternoon tee times offer the most serene conditions, with soft lighting and typically lighter winds. Given its private status, visitor access requires an invitation from a member or participation in club-hosted events. Whether you seek a competitive test or a peaceful escape, this course blends tradition, natural beauty, and thoughtful design for a memorable round.

Course Highlights

The course is distinguished by its strategic bunkering, subtly contoured greens, and selective water hazards that demand thoughtful play. Mature hardwoods frame many holes, providing both shade and challenge, while several par 4s stand out for their need to balance aggressive drives with careful approach shots.

I'm DJ Big Lunch with 1st Verse Productions and was at this venue performing for a company event. This location has a lovely staff and a gorgeous scenery. Everything was noticeably well kept and clean. The gentleman overseeing the event was both helpful, polite, and on point. In fact the entire team working the event were all polished, polite, and accommodating. Thanks to their help, any issues that were encountered were easily overcome. I highly recommend this place for being a gorgeous venue, but moreover for its dynamite staff. Thanks to everyone for making my life easier and an event for a mutual client a smashing success. 🙌 🥇 🏆 I look forward to working together again in the future. I wish you good business, you all have earned it.

I’d like to share my recent interview experience for a certified personal trainer position at a high-end golf country club. I was first contacted via email for an interview scheduled on June 18th, where I met with the fitness director. The interview went fairly well overall. I clearly communicated my availability—Monday through Friday from 6:00 AM to 12:00 PM—and explained that my specialty is one-on-one training, offering clients a highly personalized and tailored workout experience. I was then invited back for a practical session interview on June 25th. I led a 30-minute workout and followed it with a conversation with the fitness director. However, during this meeting, I was told that the position required availability from 6:00 AM to 7:00 PM and was asked again about weekend availability—despite having already stated during the first interview that I was not available on weekends. With over five years of experience in personal training and physical therapy across various populations, I found this lack of communication and disregard for my stated boundaries frustrating. The director also offered what felt like passive-aggressive feedback, comparing her training style to mine in a way that came across more as a power move than constructive input. It felt dismissive, as if my professional experience wasn't being taken seriously. Overall, it was disappointing to be invited back for a second round when it seemed clear that my availability and training approach were not a good fit from the beginning. The process felt inefficient and inconsiderate of my time. Unfortunately, this may reflect how things are handled at this particular facility.

Never been here since I have no interest in golf or a club but, just enjoy the grounds that this has been built on. The morning views are always so very calming.

Great golf course. Extremely well maintained. I always have to play it as par 70 and it’s difficult from the tips. Beautiful place.
