Course Overview
Minnesott Golf & Country Club in Arapahoe, North Carolina, offers an engaging 18-hole challenge that blends natural coastal charm with thoughtful design. This semi-private course stretches to approximately 6,200 yards with a par of 72, delivering a balanced test that appeals to golfers across skill levels. The layout weaves through streams, ponds, and marshland, with water hazards thoughtfully positioned to demand strategic shot-making rather than brute force.
From the first tee, players face a narrow corridor that commands focus, setting the tone for a round where precision is rewarded. Greens hold firm and true, inviting confident putting strokes, while fairways offer a mix of wide landing zones and tighter corridors that emphasize course management. The course’s natural setting captures elements of coastal lowlands, where gentle breezes and shifting light across water features subtly influence play but rarely overpower.
Minnesott accommodates both walkers and cart users, with a compact footprint that reveals the topography’s gentle rises and dips without excessive strain. Walkers will appreciate the scenic variety and straightforward routing; good shoes and insect repellent are advisable here, especially during warmer months. The clubhouse sits prominently near the opening hole, offering a welcoming environment for members and guests to unwind after their round.
While the course has earned praise for its well-maintained greens and fairways, golfers should note that the tee boxes tend to be on the smaller side compared to other layouts. Nevertheless, the layout’s design encourages thoughtful club selection and timing more than raw power, making Minnesott an accessible yet stimulating experience.
Golfers traveling to southeastern North Carolina will find a course rich in character yet modest in pace-of-play demands. The friendly atmosphere extends beyond the fairways, with attentive staff adding genuine warmth to each visit. Whether arriving for a casual round or a series of practice sessions, Minnesott Golf & Country Club offers a confidently measured journey through coastal golf that leaves room for both recreation and refinement.

Played MGCC twice June 2025. This course is interesting and definitely a great value. Greens and fairways were in excellent condition. T boxes on the smaller side and could use some work. Bring bug spray and take the ferry from Cherry Branch.

Pro shop staff were great and very welcoming to someone playing the course for the first time. The course itself is very nice. Greens were very good, lots of water hazards to challenge you. The first tee shot is nerve wracking though. It’s very intimidating with the narrow gap and the clubhouse right behind you. If you’re in the area, definitely look at this club.

This is a hidden secret. Not many people know about this golf course. Excellent layout with breathtaking water views. I paid $25 for 18 holes which included my own cart.
