Course Overview
The Club At Emerald Hills in Hollywood, Florida, offers an expansive 18-hole public golf experience that challenges players with its length and strategic layout. Stretching over 7,800 yards from the back tees, this course demands both powerful drives and precise shot-making. Designed as a parkland-style course, it features generous fairways bordered by well-placed hazards, including numerous water bodies that come into play against a backdrop of lush South Florida vegetation.
Set amid a mix of open spaces and mature trees, the course reveals itself gradually, with holes that test every aspect of a golfer’s game. The fourth hole stands out for many players: a demanding par-4 with an elevated green that rewards an accurate approach. The overall routing encourages thoughtful navigation around well-positioned bunkers and water hazards that guard key landing areas and greens, adding a layer of strategic consideration.
The greens at Emerald Hills receive particular praise for their smoothness and conditioning, offering a quality putting surface that holds consistent speed—uncommon for public courses in the region. This element elevates the playing experience and provides ample challenge for low handicaps while remaining approachable for higher handicaps thanks to multiple tee options ranging from shorter forward tees to the demanding back markers.
The course atmosphere reflects a friendly environment, reinforced by helpful staff and a well-managed clubhouse. Amenities include a pro shop and a grass range with modest practice facilities. While certain tee boxes and fairway patches have room for improvement, the greens and routing show deliberate care.
Players planning a visit should anticipate a pace of play typical for busy public courses in South Florida and may want to take advantage of offseason deals or booking platforms to secure the best rates. Walking is permissible but demanding due to the course’s length and frequent water crossings; most opt for carts, with courteous cart staff providing attentive service throughout the round.
Emerald Hills remains a compelling option for players seeking a substantial, tactical South Florida round. It rewards patience and precision, promising a varied test framed by its enduring landscape.

This is an absolute Beautiful course. It a very long and challenging round. Lots of water but big fairways and pretty greens. A few hole needed some work but overall this is a great course.

Avoid. 0/5 stars is more appropriate. The course is in horrendous condition and their “players card” rate comes out to $90. It is the same as Orangebrook and not much better than Greynolds Park. Most of the tee boxes are chewed up and do not have grass. Fairways are garbage weeds and chewed up. The greens are piss poor, lacking grass, and as bumpy as a gravel road. Bunkers are like old, wet concrete. If management does not want to maintain the course, just shut it down because right now they are effectively robbing people.

Had a great Friday afternoon round at Emerald Hills. Booked a round ahead of time on GolfNow for a $76/pp deal vs the regular fee of ~$100/pp. The two things that stood out the most to me here were a) how friendly the staff were and b) the great quality of the greens. - Cart staff were pleasant, brought out bottled water immediately, and made sure the cart was clean and charged. - Pro shop staff were very helpful in directing me around as it was my first time playing this course. Small bucket of balls for their grass range (rare commodity in public courses around here) was $7. - Course is fair, some tight fairways and well-placed water. Playing from the tips will put you at 7800, but there are multiple tee options that can challenge players at any level - Greens were smooth and well manicured. Likely a 7-8 on the stimp meter. Also a rarity for public courses in the Miami area. - Tee boxes were pretty shoddy, but about average for the area. - Pace is a bit slow but nothing a beer can’t solve Overall - great place to play, look for the deals **Back again 8 months later for a Friday afternoon round. Course still played well, pace as expected. A nice touch was my original booking was for 100/pp, but upon showing to the pro shop, the rate was dropped to $59/pp. Appreciated the lady giving me the flash updated rate versus what I had booked for.

Flew down from the Great White North for some golf. Day 2 of the golf trip we played EH. Hilariously funny name to most Canadians …EH. lol. Played with brothers Adam and Daniel - Pats fans. Again they reminded me of the Super Bowl win against the Seahawks … Sheesh!! It worked out later as Dan literally got attacked by some random bird. See pics LMAO - the funniest thing I have ever seen on a golf course. Course is a tyrant. LOOOOOOONNNGGG. Challenging. Course conditions were MEH but the greens were decent. Pin placements were in crazy hard positions. I was legit hard test. They told me it was once a bigtime area course for amateur or qualifying championships etc. The layout is there. It’s too bad a developer bought the land and they plan on making it more homes. Play it while you can.

Good place; good people About what you’d expect with a municipal golf course in south FL. I suppose some spots could use some TLC, but the course has a nice layout and great possibilities for championship golf imo. I really like the fourth hole. Challenging par 4 with great view and elevated green
