Course Overview

Osswald Golf Course offers a compact yet engaging layout built specifically for sharpening your short game. Located in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, this public facility features a unique three-hole, par-3 configuration, with each hole averaging around 150 yards. Though modest in size, Osswald challenges golfers with water hazards strategically placed to test accuracy and course management. The natural Florida terrain here comes alive with lush greenery and well-maintained greens, providing a refreshing contrast to the tight yardages. Designed not for long drives but for finesse, this course encourages players to focus on iron precision and delicate putting.

The playability of Osswald is geared toward golfers looking to improve their mid- to short-range shots without the time commitment of a full 18-hole round. It serves as an ideal practice ground for beginners as well as seasoned players aiming to sharpen their scoring clubs. While the course is free to play, golfers are encouraged to respect the pace of play and the upkeep efforts that maintain this urban green space.

Amenities are minimal but meaningful. The greens are notably maintained in good condition, a rare find at no-cost facilities in the area. There is no formal clubhouse, but onsite staff members, such as the well-known 'Big Slim,' provide friendly assistance to newcomers. Course walkability is manageable given its small scale, but players should come dressed for Florida conditions and anticipate occasional insect activity, especially in shaded picnic areas near the course.

Osswald’s setting within a lively urban landscape adds an element of convenience for those residing or visiting Fort Lauderdale. It is not a traditional golf course destination but an effective venue for focused game improvement. The course represents a clear invitation to enjoy golf through an approachable, practice-driven lens where every stroke counts. For golfers wanting to refine accuracy and scoring touch, Osswald provides an accessible, unpretentious stage on which to elevate their short game.

Great place for hack(😌) golfers to practice. It has 3 holes, par 3, with varying distances. The greens are in very good shape and enough water hazards to keep one honest. Make sure you say hello to Big Slim- a cool employee that's willing to help beginners.

If you plan to hit more then 2 golf balls or putt multiple times while waiting for the group in front of you this is not the place to go. Will get the cops called on you by an old Spanish man that claims to be the king of the course

I love this course don’t get me wrong. Yes the greens are absolute garbage and you cannot put on them but it is free. However, they’re constantly closed for maintenance but nothing is being done to the three holes that we play. At least put and change your hours online so people don’t waste part of their day off driving over there to practice just to turn around and have to go to the range. Great place to practice, but not a good place to work on putting chipping is a joke. The greens are absolute garbage. The driving range is a joke unless you want to chase your balls around. But for free you cannot complain the distances the advertise, however, are wrong. I can play this entire course with the putter, pitching wedge and 9 iron.

So, the course is a three hole, par three course that averages 150 yards per hole. No tee times needed, free course. The tee boxes are shot but greens are great. Open dusk til dawn seven days. Infinitely better than a driving range for those with mid/short game issues to address.

Beautiful little golf course nestled inside a park - and it's free to play! The greens run fast and the vibe is super relaxed. I’ve been a few times-played solo once, and the other times I paired myself up with others. You can loop around a few times or use it for short game practice. The first tee by the parking lot brings water into play right away, and there are plenty of fun, casual challenges throughout. What makes it stand out is the setting: native cypress, mangroves, and sable palms all around the course, with white ibis and other birds cruising by. It feels like a nature walk with a putter in your hand. Great little course to unwind, practice, or just enjoy a couple laid-back laps in the sun.
