Deer Creek Golf Club

Deerfield Beach, Florida, USASouth Florida

Deer Creek Golf Club offers a classic 18-hole Florida golf experience combining strategic water hazards, gently rolling fairways, and challenging greens. Its semi-private layout caters to a broad range of skill levels in a peaceful setting just minutes from Deerfield Beach.

Course Overview

Deer Creek Golf Club in Deerfield Beach, Florida, presents an 18-hole championship layout that balances scenic beauty with a test of skill. This semi-private course stretches over 6,700 yards from the back tees with a par of 72, offering a setting that is both inviting for mid and high handicappers and engaging enough to challenge more accomplished players. The course is a classic Floridian design, featuring gently rolling fairways framed by mature trees, water hazards that come into play on several holes, and well-placed bunkers protecting the greens. These strategic elements compel thoughtful club selection and shot placement, particularly as the greens often feature subtle breaks requiring a keen eye and deft touch on the putter.

On a typical round here, the atmosphere is calm and reflective of its South Florida environment, with occasional coastal breezes influencing ball flight, especially on holes bordering the creeks and water features. While the course conditioning is generally good year-round, recent seasonal rains can soften fairways and slow green speeds. Walking is allowed and appreciated on calmer days; sturdy golf shoes with good traction will make traversing the modest undulations more comfortable.

Deer Creek Golf Club’s facilities include a spacious clubhouse offering dining and locker rooms, a driving range, and practice greens, all designed to meet the needs of regular members and their guests. The club maintains a relaxed pace of play policy that encourages a full round to be completed within four hours, aiming to keep the experience enjoyable for everyone. Visitors should plan their arrival thoughtfully as tee times are limited to members and their invited guests.

This golf course’s appeal lies in its straightforward layout that rewards accuracy and patience without overwhelming the player with excessive length or complexity. While the greens can catch the inexperienced by surprise, those who manage to read the terrain accurately will find Deer Creek a satisfying course to return to, offering a consistent golf challenge within a pleasant, natural setting.

Course Highlights

The course is known for its well-placed water hazards and bunkers that demand precise shot making. Several holes run alongside creeks and ponds, adding visual interest and tactical risk. Its layout emphasizes shot strategy over length, making it approachable yet rewarding. The practice facilities complement the course with a large driving range and dedicated short game area.

Deer Creek Golf Course was the absolute perfect venue for our wedding! From start to finish, everything was exactly to my liking, and the entire day exceeded my expectations. The waterfall made for a breathtaking ceremony backdrop—it was so beautiful and added such a magical touch to the moment. The staff at Deer Creek were amazing to work with. Everyone was professional, attentive, and made sure every detail was handled flawlessly. A special thank you to the day-of coordinator, who was incredible at keeping everything on track and ensuring the day ran smoothly. They truly went above and beyond to make sure we were happy and stress-free. The venue itself is stunning, and the entire team made sure it looked picture-perfect. Our guests couldn’t stop raving about how beautiful everything was! Thank you, Deer Creek Golf Course, for helping make our wedding day unforgettable.

nice course - not great - over priced - horrible website and tee time system - would play more often here without the ridiculous fees and difficulty scheduling times

I recently visited this golf course and, unfortunately, had a disappointing experience. The course itself is beautifully maintained and offers a fantastic layout for a great game of golf. However, the staff significantly detracted from the experience. They were frequently interrupting our play, and their approach was often rude and unprofessional. It felt more like harassment than assistance. It's a real shame because the course has so much potential. With better training and a more respectful attitude from the staff, this could easily be one of the best golf courses around.

Great time at this facility. Fairways were in great shape, greens were a little off but understandable with a week of rain. The course is fair but tough with quite a few uneven Iies in the fairways. I think after a few rounds and knowing the course better it might play a bit differently. can't say enough about how professional and friendly everyone on the staff was that I interacted with. Will definitely be back thanks

Golf Review: I’ve been coming here for the past 5 years, the place has gone DOWNHILL. They now charge $170 per round during peak season, the greens keeper doesn’t keep the greens in the excellent condition they used to be in, and the MAJORITY of the hole locations are in awful locations (2-3 feet from the fringe or near the top of spines - not per USGA recommendations or how the architect intended I’m sure). The ranger came around twice and told us to keep up right against the players in front of us, see picture.. I’m not sure how much closer we could get and we finished the round at 12:20 (started at 8:17). Charging $170, placing the holes in impossible locations, and rushing people to sit on tee boxes… no thanks! I WOULD RECOMMEND THE PARK (or ANY PALM BEACH COURSE), POMPANO PINES, OR JACARANDA OVER DEER CREEK (EVEN PLANTATION FOR $100 IS OVERALL MORE FUN)

Today I visited this golf course and had a very disappointing experience. While the course itself is stunning and well-maintained, the staff's behavior was unacceptable. They were constantly interrupting our game, and their demeanor was incredibly rude and unprofessional. It's a shame because the setting is perfect for a great day of golf, but the staff's attitude completely ruined it. I hope management addresses these issues, as this could be a top-notch course with the right team in place.
