Río Bayamón Golf Course

Bayamón, Puerto Rico, USASan Juan Metropolitan Area

Río Bayamón Golf Course in Bayamón, Puerto Rico, presents an engaging 18-hole municipal layout known for its precise fairways and innovative practice facilities featuring TopTrace technology. This course blends technical challenges with accessible play inside an urban setting, making it a favored destination for golfers around San Juan.

Course Overview

Located just outside San Juan in Bayamón, Puerto Rico, Río Bayamón Golf Course offers a distinctive blend of accessibility and challenge within a municipal setting. This 18-hole layout combines the tight precision demanded by its narrow fairways with varying elevations and strategic water hazards that require thoughtful shot-making from golfers of all levels. The course’s compact design weaves through urban and natural elements, creating a playing environment where every round feels active and engaging.

Río Bayamón stands out for its excellent practice facilities. The expansive two-level driving range is equipped with TopTrace technology, giving players real-time ball tracking and swing data from each bay. This interactive feature allows golfers to fine-tune distances with every club and track progress in a way usually reserved for high-end golf centers, adding a modern edge to traditional practice routines. Nearby, a sizable putting and chipping area supports valuable short-game work before stepping onto the course.

Players encounter a course that demands accuracy more than raw power. Several par 4s and par 5s are guarded by narrow corridors bordered by water and dense rough, encouraging conservative course management. The par 3 holes inject variety with both tight and forgiving landing areas, balanced to challenge and reward precision without feeling punitive. The greens present moderate undulations, testing touch and patience.

The clubhouse serves as a lively hub, boasting a bar and dining options that create a welcoming atmosphere for both players and visitors. The friendly staff and frequent special events make the venue popular beyond just the golf, often hosting social gatherings and celebrations in its outdoor spaces.

For golfers planning a visit, the course’s urban location offers easy access from San Juan. Walking is possible though the layout’s compact footprint and occasional elevation shifts suggest comfortable shoes and moderate fitness are advisable. Golf carts are available, providing a smooth way to navigate the course at a relaxed pace. Whether seeking a practice session with technological support or a round that challenges precision under tropical sun, Río Bayamón delivers a vibrant golf experience with a distinctly local flavor.

Played a round before boarding a cruise. The course is very nice for a municipal course but also very challenging as the fairways tend to be narrow and water is always around, so play conservatively if you’re a higher handicap like me. The facilities are very good and they have everything a golfer would want. When originally booking, I couldn’t find a course near San Juan that had tee times available before noon on weekends, so I emailed the Pro Shop and they replied promptly with a morning tee time so I could make my evening cruise boarding.

This is a country version of Top Golf! Love the ambience and the ball tracking system on each bay works surprisingly well. Could have the tokens for the ball machines a little closer instead of having to walk to the clubhouse to pay for them, but it’s not that bad. Overall great little driving range!

El lugar muy bien, solo que la atención en el área de La Terraza (al lado del campo) fue muy descortés

This place is absolutely wonderful. The staff is friendly, they have 57 bays at the driving range and the bucket of balls are priced excellent. I spent 5 hours here today and I'll be back tomorrow.

This is the closest golf course to my place in San Juan so I visit atleast once a week. Very nice staff, good gas powered carts, and the cart girl comes around for drinks and empanadas. The course itself is a good mix of challenging par 4/5s and some fun par 3s. Most are narrow fairways but some are very wide across the highway. The driving range is huge, two levels, and each bay has a screen for TopTrace that tracks all your shots. Makes it fun like top golf and also allows you to easily record your average distances per club. The practice putting/chipping area is huge so it’s still good when it’s busy. The bar is fun and busy and I always see people eating there. Surprisingly people like to rent the gazebo for events like baby shower parties on the weekends.
