Avalon Golf Links
Avalon Golf Links in Burlington, WA, offers flexible 18- and 27-hole options across three scenic nine-hole courses. With well-maintained greens, strategic parkland layout, and Cascade Mountain views, it provides a balanced challenge suitable for a wide range of golfers.
Course Overview
Avalon Golf Links, located just off Kelleher Road in Burlington, Washington, offers a distinctive golf experience through its three interconnected nine-hole courses that combine for 27 holes of play. Players can choose any two nines for an 18-hole round, or embark on a full 27-hole adventure, making Avalon a versatile destination for golfers with varying time frames and ambitions. The layout leans toward a traditional parkland style, threading through verdant fairways framed by stands of evergreens and punctuated by occasional water hazards. Subtle elevation changes add texture and challenge, while views of the distant Cascade Mountains stretch beyond the course, injecting a quiet sense of place into every swing.
The well-maintained greens at Avalon are generous in size and offer generally subtle breaks, making them approachable for those still refining their putting touch. Precision off the tee carries weight on some tighter fairways, where stray shots can quickly find thicker rough or hidden bunkers that demand a strategic approach. This balance ensures that both beginners and low handicappers find the layout engaging without feeling overwhelmed.
Despite the challenging tightness in some areas, Avalon's tee boxes remain flat and accessible, supporting a range of skill levels. The course's upkeep remains strong, with healthy turf underfoot and neatly maintained bunkers that hold the interest of those seeking to sharpen their short game. While pace of play can fluctuate, especially on busier days when tee times are tightly spaced, the staff encourages walking and provides rental carts as needed. The practice facilities include a driving range equipped with turf mats and short game area, enabling players to prepare thoroughly before each round.
The clubhouse houses a pro shop with essential equipment and apparel, alongside a casual restaurant and bar area where players can unwind and share stories after their rounds. Parked under open skies, Avalon’s open layout invites golfers to embrace both the sport’s physical and social dimensions. For those planning a visit, advance tee time booking is recommended, particularly on weekends, due to consistent demand. Avalon Golf Links delivers a distinctive Northwest golfing experience marked by thoughtful course design, friendly service, and a setting that combines natural beauty with accessible challenge.

Avalon Golf Links is a golf course in Burlington made up of 3 separate 9 hole courses. You can play a combination of them totalling 18 or even 27, and they even used to have an all you can play option but I didn't see that when we got there last time. It's pretty easy to get to, only right off the main road about a minute. They have a big parking lot but it's setup kind of weird with a bunch of one ways and slanted spots so it can be tough to get around. Inside, they have a clubhouse with a small store with your basic necessities as well as a little restaurant area with a bar. The pro shop employees are nice and chatty, and the bar servers are funny to chat with. They have a driving range with about a dozen turf pads. Prices aren't too bad for range balls, and prices for the course play plus a cart are a bit high but they take good care of the course. Speaking of, the courses themselves are good. Well maintained greens, fairways in good condition, rough not too bad, and tee boxes were nice and flat. A lot of narrow holes here, but the greens are relatively flat and big. A few sand traps, which at the time were a bit hard, but overall still fine. Beverage cart service is on certain days (check their site for details) and stocked full of things to get. Overall, Avalon is a fun course and although a bit pricey, still worth playing. Book a tee time up to a week before hand since they tend to be fully booked a few days out.

Avalon Golf Links offers a scenic and well-maintained course with stunning views of the Cascade Mountains. However, the pace of play was disappointing, taking 5 hours to complete 18 holes. While the course itself is enjoyable, the slow pace can detract from the experience. It’s a great spot if you have the time and patience.

Played South/North trak. Good round. Easy to lose balls if off the fairway and some blind tee shots that facilitate this occurring more than I would like. They did have caddies at the ready and were I playing alone, I would take advantage of this - if only to work the course better. The downside is how tightly the tee times are booked (8/9 min?)... On a Tuesday!! We had to let a twosome play through on 3 and before 7, we had another group knocking on our back door. (We do not play slow!!) If they collect $100+ on a weekday morning, they should book 10 min minimum.

course is pretty nice. i played west south but the pace of play is absolutely ridiculous. never in my life have i heard of a course with 5 minute tee time intervals on a weekend + allowing 5 and 6 sums to go out. What a terrible representation from a decent looking golf course. No dress code either, these clowns wear t shirts and sweat pants and shoot 140

I have returned to Avalon every year. It holds a special place in my heart because this was the last course my father and I played before he passed. I love the 27 holes and all 3 courses are beautiful. Looking forward to returning next month.

Great course! Nice greens, interesting terrain. Good folks. No sand in the bunkers though just rock and hard pack. It's a shame as the course is so good otherwise.
