Eastmoreland Golf Course

Portland, Oregon, USANorthwest Oregon

Eastmoreland Golf Course in Portland blends classic parkland charm with testy tree-lined fairways and water hazards. Its approachable design suits a wide range of players while demanding precision along its 18 challenging holes.

Course Overview

Eastmoreland Golf Course offers a classic Portland golfing experience with its urban parkland layout defined by towering evergreens and strategically placed water hazards. This 18-hole municipal course stretches just over 6,700 yards with a par of 72, providing a balanced challenge for golfers across skill levels. Characterized by long, narrow fairways lined with mature trees, Eastmoreland demands precision off the tee and thoughtful course management, especially on its back nine where water features come into play and test both shot shaping and nerve.

The course’s landscape shapes each hole’s personality. Early holes ease players in with approachable tee shots, while the closing stretch pushes focus and shot selection to the forefront. Greens are known for their smooth surfaces, rewarding those who can read subtle breaks, though sand traps show some wear requiring cautious navigation. The presence of large flocks of geese adds lively natural activity but also means players should stay alert for course conditions that can vary, particularly following wet weather common in the Pacific Northwest.

Eastmoreland’s clubhouse offers a straightforward yet welcoming atmosphere with dining options that include a patio perfect for unwinding after a round. The friendly staff and community vibe make it a favored spot for locals, while its public access policy invites visitors seeking a well-maintained course that is both affordable and rewarding.

For those planning a visit, be prepared for the occasional soggy conditions in early spring and consider extra balls if your shot tends to stray. Walking enthusiasts will appreciate the relatively flat terrain and tree-shaded paths, though comfortable shoes are recommended. Nearby urban amenities and easy access from central Portland add convenience to your golf day.

Eastmoreland Golf Course represents a solid municipal gem where tradition meets practical accessibility. It challenges without overwhelming, making it an ideal venue for players aiming to hone accuracy and enjoy an outdoors-rich city experience.

Back 9 is a must try. Absolutely gorgeous. Only down side is the railway and homeless.

One of the best looking courses in the area. The back 9 were definitely more challenging. Lots of trees and bushes so if you’re a slicer bring extra balls.

A really solid all-around course. Pretty much exactly what you picture when you think of a municipal course. Good value, solid course upkeep, and a wide range of pace of play. I chalk it up to its relatively long & narrow tree lined tee shots (its defining feature). I wouldn’t rate it as high as Heron Lakes or Wildwood, but a very solid alternative.

My favorite city owned golf course. A good mix of holes and challenges, lots of water hazards on the back nine, fairly well maintained (except for the sand traps), and the course staff is always nice. The restaurant is standard but they pour stiff drinks and have a great patio to sit at after a round. The grounds can get pretty soggy during the spring season so be prepared for some mud through April.

On June 13th, My husband and I were about 5 minutes late for our 1:10 t-time. I thought our t-time was 1:20. The marshall yelled at us and lectured me on how rude it was to be late. The twosome we 1were to golf with was just teeing off. I gave our name and he couldn't find it and I tried to give him our receipt and refused it. Then he found our name and told us to get onto the tee or he will cancel our golf. He told us to catch up with the players ahead of us. About 2 holes later he comes and told us that he will hold up the twosome so we can catch up. We were on the green and the twsome were just teeing off. The Marshall's behavior was unacceptable to me. He was rude and disrespectful. I have been golfing at Eastmoreland since 1987. I know and understand course rules and courtesy. I have never showed up late and I have called if I know that I may be late because of circumstances. To top it off, the clubhouse didn't give me back my $2.00 in change so my golf for nine holes was $90.00. I will not ever golf at your course again. You have my name and email address in your data base if you want to email me a response or we can tal by phone. I am a long time customer. Thank you

my partner and i wanted to get out from the house for a change. I recommended she visit a park while I resume my golf practice that I had paused over a month back. as luck would have it, the course features a driving range. we only have one vehicle, so she drove a short distance to a park and i used golf clubs to drive on the course's range. a fellow clubber on the top deck of the swinging range hit their ball northbound, right into mine, mid-air. at first, i was upset that they had interfered with my practice. the gentleman in the neighboring bay exclaimed that it was a once-in-a-lifetime moment. i was feeling lucky, so i hit the remaining practice shots and then walked to the wrong park to resume the time i was spending with my partner that i had paused only an hour or so back.

Came here while visiting from Colorado. I really enjoyed this course. The trees make the course difficult but doable. Greens were in perfect condition, tee boxes could use some love. Tons of geese so there is a lot of poop! Nice long par 5’s. Nice staff and facilities. Friendly creatures on the course too! Would go back!
