Quinton Oaks Golf Course
Quinton Oaks Golf Course presents an accessible 18-hole parkland layout set in rural Virginia, ideal for beginners and intermediates seeking a relaxed round. Its simple charm and natural setting offer a practical golfing experience where strategic play is rewarded.
Course Overview
Quinton Oaks Golf Course offers a distinctive experience set amid the quiet landscapes of Callao, Virginia. This 18-hole public course unfolds across gently rolling terrain, showcasing a traditional parkland style that balances natural beauty with straightforward playability. While the course currently demands a bit of patience regarding maintenance, it remains a welcoming venue for golfers at beginner and intermediate levels seeking affordable access to a full-length layout.
The fairways stretch generously, offering ample room to shape shots, though some areas would benefit from revitalization to maximize comfort and consistency underfoot. Greens vary in quality but generally receive positive remarks for their challenge and responsiveness, making scoring opportunities attainable for those who navigate the course's subtle contours. Quinton Oaks invites players to engage with a peaceful setting where the sounds of the countryside prevail over urban buzz.
Players can expect a course that encourages strategic thinking rather than overpowering length. A handful of holes introduce natural hazards such as bunkers with persistent weeds and occasional standing water, demanding selective shot execution. Careful club choice often proves more valuable than pure power. The layout, while modest, offers a level of challenge that makes every round feel purposeful without overwhelming less experienced golfers.
Amenities at Quinton Oaks include a driving range and ample parking which adds convenience. The clubhouse serves as a simple hub where players can gather, though the emphasis remains strongly on the round itself rather than extensive resort features. Walking is encouraged, but golfers should be prepared for uneven turf and varying course conditions; sturdy footwear is advisable.
Golfers seeking a quiet escape in rural Virginia will appreciate Quinton Oaks’ straightforward approach to the game. It is a course that values the game’s fundamentals and social experience over polished presentation. For those willing to embrace its authentic country atmosphere, rounds here offer a refreshingly modest yet honest test of golf.
Course Highlights
Quinton Oaks features a traditional parkland layout with wide fairways that encourage shot creativity. Its varied greens provide a subtle test of touch and pace. Though certain bunkers and rough areas show signs of minimal upkeep, the course’s quiet rural surroundings deliver an immersive country golf experience largely free of distractions.

Course would not accept Tee Time Golf pass. Told us that July 5 was a holiday must be a new one as I thought July 4 was the holiday this was a big surprise as told them I was wanting to use the Tee Time Golf Pass discount when calling and making the tee time. Course overall was in good shape a lot of tee boxes were dirt some greens had bad spots near the clubhouse greens and tee boxes were great fairways were excellent. Would play again with they would honor there Tee Time Golf Pass that they have discounts listed in.

Played in a tournament here today. Greens were in great shape; however, many of the fairways needed some help. Definitely some challenging holes - a couple of the tee boxes were also in pretty rough shape. There is a driving range and plenty of space to park. Overall, not a bad experience.

I played here in 93 94 they had not been open long at the time, it was a interesting course to play, I have been wanting to go play a round so I did. The course in general is in need of attention, granted the greens are the best part of it, and they are fair. The grass on some holes in front of the green was so tall it was hard to find your ball. The sand traps have weeds growing in them, some had water standing in them. Even the parking lot has weeds cigarette butt's and sticks. I played 18 never saw a mower or a worker doing anything. I live here in the Neck and would be nice to have a nice place to play. I'm not trying to cut the place down to the ground, but I feel no effort in put forth to maintain the grounds. I know it takes a lot to keep it nice, but someone to pull some weeds rake, blow the sticks out of the parking lot can't cost but so much, If I owned It would do it myself. Also update the website, it says twilight is 1 pm and 27, so get the 1:45 charged 36 and twilight is 2 pm, I payed the 36. Maybe Dean will read this and take some action to make it better. Sorry just being honest.

The value in incredible. The tee boxes, and fairways are nice. The greens are a little shaky. If you’re a beginner or intermediate, step right up and get the best value for miles. If you’re a pro, go play Pebble Beach.
