City of Longmont Twin Peaks Golf Course

Longmont, Colorado, USANorthern Colorado

City of Longmont Twin Peaks Golf Course offers an 18-hole public course set against Colorado’s striking mountain scenery. With a balanced layout featuring lush fairways, crisp greens, and a parkland style shaped by its front-range location, this course welcomes golfers of multiple skill levels seeking a scenic yet approachable round.

Course Overview

City of Longmont Twin Peaks Golf Course presents an engaging challenge set against the dramatic backdrop of Colorado’s Front Range. This 18-hole public layout offers a blend of mountain-inspired terrain and carefully maintained fairways, stretching over approximately 6,700 yards with a par of 72. Located at 1200 Cornell Dr, Longmont, CO, the course balances accessibility with moments of subtle difficulty, making it appealing to a wide range of golfers.

The course’s style leans toward parkland with subtle mountain influences, featuring undulating fairways framed by groves of mature trees and frequent views of the rugged peaks beyond. The front nine recently benefited from a key irrigation upgrade, elevating turf quality and consistency, while the back nine awaits similar improvements. This ongoing attention helps maintain firm, true greens that reward precision but also welcome careful strategy.

Players will find that each hole presents its own personality—tight corridors require accurate tee shots, and the fairways demand thoughtful navigation around bunkers that protect well-guarded greens. Although the course is not designed to intimidate low handicap players alone, it offers enough variety to encourage skill development for all levels. The rolling landscape, combined with the seasonal shifts in foliage, particularly in autumn, adds a vibrant visual dimension that enhances the rhythm of play.

Amenities include a welcoming pro shop staffed with helpful professionals and practice facilities suitable for warm-up or tune-ups. While the course encourages walking, the terrain is manageable with sturdy footwear recommended for early mornings when dew can linger on the grass. Public access allows flexibility for visitors, but patience during busy periods will help maintain a smooth pace of play.

Twin Peaks’ ambiance is shaped not only by its physical design but also by its outdoor setting—morning mountain breezes influence club selection, while the occasional presence of local wildlife adds character to each round. This golf destination serves Longmont and the greater northern Colorado region as an affordable yet thoughtfully maintained course, offering a full experience without overwhelming visitors. Whether you seek a leisurely round or a more focused test of game, Twin Peaks invites golfers to connect with the landscape and their own potential.

Course Highlights

The course features a parkland layout that incorporates the nearby mountain terrain, marked by tree-lined fairways and bunkers guarding well-defined greens. Signature views frame holes with the Rocky Mountains visible in the distance, adding visual complexity to strategic play. Recent irrigation investments have improved turf conditions, particularly on the front nine, while the back nine retains classic lines awaiting similar enhancements. The course’s approachable design makes it suitable for a broad range of golfers seeking mountain scenery without extreme elevation challenges.

This course is tight and not much cover between holes. You hope the people behind you and a few holes in front of you are hitting them straight because the whole course seems to run together. We still had a blast. The pro shop staff was kind upon check in and guided us to where we needed to be. Definitely a public course so the pace of play was something we had to just wait around for. Geese everywhere. The people who live on course were also very nice, had a few chats while we were waiting.

Very poor customer service in pro shop, I had booked a tee time over the phone upon arrival I discover they never actually booked my time.

Twin Peaks is currently in excellent condition. They replaced the irrigation system on the front nine last winter and it has helped a lot. They’ll replace the irrigation system on the back nine this winter, but that work hasn’t started yet. Currently the greens are fast and smooth. The fairways are like carpets. The leaves on the trees are yellow, orange, and red, and are simply gorgeous. Affordable, with awesome views of the mountains, Twin Peaks is a special place to play a round.

Course is in awful shape for what they charge. It didn't look they've turned sprinklers on once this season. There's dying sod all over, holes left unfilled from aerating the greens. It looks like there’s no grounds crew maintaining this course. Had a good time with some homies though.

Manage your own tee times. Offloading it to a call center is a horrible customer experience.

I want to love this course but it's becoming harder to do so. I feel like the condition of it is slipping in a serious way. I bring my 10 year old son out there and literally you can hear people dropping f bombs all over the course and on the range. The practice is sometimes littered with a hundred range balls and nobody picks them up. There is chewed up areas all over the course that just make it look horrible. It's pretty much open season for people to literally drive carts up onto the fringe of the greens. I've even seen people literally drive carts onto the tee box. Had to play with guys that are blasting music on speakers and for the life of me can't understand why anybody would think that it's ok to do that. Do we all blare our own music. I realize I sound like Judge Smails here but there's a point where all of this just takes away the pleasure of going and actually playing golf. I wish whoever is in charge would take some kind of action to make things a little less 'every man for himself' kind of vibe out there.

Terrible experience, the employees were very rude and disrespectful, and the people golfing there. We were golfing normally and a very rude man came up to us and started to yell at us because we were around 25 feet away from the green instead of 30. This was the worst golfing experience I’ve ever had.
