Longmont, Colorado, USANorthern Colorado

Twin Peaks Golf Course in Longmont, Colorado, presents an approachable 18-hole public layout set against views of the Front Range mountains. Known for its well-maintained fairways, challenging yet fair greens, and scenic elevation changes, it offers a balanced round for golfers of all skill levels.

Course Overview

Located in Longmont, Colorado, Twin Peaks Golf Course offers an 18-hole public layout that balances scenic inspiration with straightforward playability. Its design unfolds across gently rolling terrain just off Cornell Drive, presenting golfers with a traditional parkland-style setting punctuated by intermittent stands of trees and expansive fairways. The course’s defining feature is its panoramic views of the Front Range mountains, which create a compelling backdrop that shifts with the light and weather, adding an extra dimension to each shot.

Twin Peaks plays to a par of 72 and generally measures around 6,700 yards from the back tees, providing enough length to challenge low handicappers while remaining accessible to middle and higher handicaps. The fairways are well-defined and Bermuda grass dominates the playing surfaces, giving the turf a smooth, carpet-like quality that aids ball roll yet demands accurate tee shots. Greens are known to be moderately fast when well-maintained, often requiring careful reading and precise putting strokes. Strategically placed bunkers guard many greens and demand thoughtful course management, though the overall layout invites mixed-ability players to enjoy the round without excessive intimidation.

The course has seen recent improvements, including a full irrigation system upgrade on the front nine that has contributed to healthier fairways and improved turf consistency; attention is being given to the back nine irrigation as well. Seasonal conditions can influence playability, with vibrant autumn hues offering a striking visual experience during the fall months. Players should be prepared for occasional wildlife on the course, particularly geese, which may require extra focus during play.

Twin Peaks encourages walking and though the terrain is gentle, golfers should wear comfortable footwear suitable for natural grass surfaces and uneven ground. The pro shop staff is recognized for helpful assistance and the welcoming atmosphere of this municipal course makes it an approachable destination for local golfers and visitors alike. While the course is known for its reasonable rates, players should anticipate moderate pace of play typical of public facilities during peak times.

Overall, the City of Longmont Twin Peaks Golf Course provides a practical yet rewarding experience in a mountain-adjacent setting, blending natural beauty with a course layout that appeals to a broad range of golfers seeking both challenge and enjoyment.

Twin Peaks is currently in excellent condition. They replaced the irrigation system on the front nine last winter and it has helped a lot. They’ll replace the irrigation system on the back nine this winter, but that work hasn’t started yet. Currently the greens are fast and smooth. The fairways are like carpets. The leaves on the trees are yellow, orange, and red, and are simply gorgeous. Affordable, with awesome views of the mountains, Twin Peaks is a special place to play a round.

This course is tight and not much cover between holes. You hope the people behind you and a few holes in front of you are hitting them straight because the whole course seems to run together. We still had a blast. The pro shop staff was kind upon check in and guided us to where we needed to be. Definitely a public course so the pace of play was something we had to just wait around for. Geese everywhere. The people who live on course were also very nice, had a few chats while we were waiting.

Course is in awful shape for what they charge. It didn't look they've turned sprinklers on once this season. There's dying sod all over, holes left unfilled from aerating the greens. It looks like there’s no grounds crew maintaining this course. Had a good time with some homies though.

I want to love this course but it's becoming harder to do so. I feel like the condition of it is slipping in a serious way. I bring my 10 year old son out there and literally you can hear people dropping f bombs all over the course and on the range. The practice is sometimes littered with a hundred range balls and nobody picks them up. There is chewed up areas all over the course that just make it look horrible. It's pretty much open season for people to literally drive carts up onto the fringe of the greens. I've even seen people literally drive carts onto the tee box. Had to play with guys that are blasting music on speakers and for the life of me can't understand why anybody would think that it's ok to do that. Do we all blare our own music. I realize I sound like Judge Smails here but there's a point where all of this just takes away the pleasure of going and actually playing golf. I wish whoever is in charge would take some kind of action to make things a little less 'every man for himself' kind of vibe out there.

Very poor customer service in pro shop, I had booked a tee time over the phone upon arrival I discover they never actually booked my time.

Terrible experience, the employees were very rude and disrespectful, and the people golfing there. We were golfing normally and a very rude man came up to us and started to yell at us because we were around 25 feet away from the green instead of 30. This was the worst golfing experience I’ve ever had.

Manage your own tee times. Offloading it to a call center is a horrible customer experience.
