Course Overview
Located just outside Blountville, Tennessee, Tri-Cities Golf Club offers a challenging and approachable 18-hole layout set amid rolling terrain that hints at both traditional southern parkland and subtle mountain influences. As a public course, it welcomes golfers of varying skill levels, though it tends to reward accuracy and course management over brute distance. The course stretches over approximately 6,300 yards from the back tees with a par of 72, presenting a mix of moderately elevated fairways, well-defined bunkers, and greens that offer subtle contours rather than extreme slopes.
The routing takes players through a blend of tree-lined holes and open fairways, paying careful attention to natural landforms that shape each shot. While the landscape shows signs of time’s passage, it retains a character that encourages strategic play, demanding thoughtful club selection especially when approach shots are guarded by bunkers or occasional hazards. The condition of the playing surfaces can vary, with some players noting inconsistent greens and areas of uneven turf; those planning a visit might consider playing during drier months for optimal footing and surface speed.
Tri-Cities Golf Club's clubhouse serves as a modest yet welcoming hub, offering basic amenities suitable for a day’s golf without the bells and whistles of a resort environment. Golf carts are available by request, though the course’s layout is manageable for walkers who bring sturdy shoes due to some elevation changes and natural terrain. For players seeking a venue that balances tradition with affordability, this club delivers a genuine Tennessee golfing experience that challenges without overwhelming.
Ideal for local golfers and travelers passing through the region, Tri-Cities Golf Club encourages a pace of play that respects the course’s flow and fellow players. While it lacks the polish of top-tier championship venues, it promises a straightforward, enjoyable round where technique and patience are rewarded. Whether you’re refining your short game or simply looking for a welcoming track to spend an afternoon, Tri-Cities offers practical, unpretentious golf set against a quiet rural backdrop.
Course Highlights
The course challenges golfers with rolling fairways framed by mature trees and strategic bunkering. Modest elevation changes add variety to shots without overcomplicating play, while greens emphasize subtle breaks demanding focus on short game skills. Despite some inconsistencies in conditioning, the course’s design maintains a clear focus on shot placement and course management.

I have played this golf course for years. It is in terrible condition trees laying everywhere the greens are about gone, sink holes in the middle of fairways. They will go weeks without changing the cups on the greens. They leave the tees in the same spot until the grass is gone. The price keeps going up and the quality has hit about rock bottom.

Today was the day I can’t take anymore of this course. For the last 5 years they’ve spent less and less to make this course even average. I play on average once to twice a week and this course used to be one that I played more than others. The conditions are terrible and green fees continue to go up. I feel confident this course has seen my last dollar until they decide to invest in making this course at least average. I don’t need The Virginian out of a public course but I need better than the Cedars and Steele Creek. This course is worse than both of those at this point.

Course is very poor for what is charged from tee, to fairways, to greens. Played here for years, but due to management acting like they are closer to a private club than a Steels Creek, I will no longer play. Use to play 2-3 times per week and played in the weekly league nights as well.

I just came off the course. I just played the pines and the woods courses. I come through this area a couple times a year, and when I do this is where I will stop to play. Friendly people! Nice place!

Nice course with lots of shape and elevation changes. Greens were sanded when I played but had good shape and contour

Greens are looking good. Tee boxes badly need repair especially the golf (senior tees). Great staff. Just needs cart path repairs, holes filled in, tree limbs removed.

This place has really went downhill. Over grown areas, no real pride in the course.
