Cobblestone Golf Course

Kendallville, Indiana, USANortheast Indiana

Cobblestone Golf Course in Kendallville, Indiana, presents an 18-hole public parkland course that balances accessible terrain with strategic challenges. Its thoughtfully placed hazards and walkable layout make it appealing for golfers seeking a solid test of precision and course management.

Course Overview

Cobblestone Golf Course offers an 18-hole public layout that challenges golfers seeking a test of both strategy and skill. Located in Kendallville, Indiana, the course presents a mixture of length and natural obstacles that demand precise shot-making. The design combines traditional parkland characteristics with stretches of mature trees lining fairways, providing a measured balance between openness and protection. Water hazards and well-placed bunkers contribute to course variety, creating moments where course management becomes as important as execution.

The setting is straightforward but inviting, with gently rolling terrain and natural greenery forming a quietly scenic backdrop. Cobblestone avoids excessive elevation changes, making it approachable for players who prefer a walkable round without demanding too much physical exertion. Those looking for a solid challenge will find lengthy holes that reward accuracy off the tee and thoughtful navigation around hazards. The greens vary in size and undulation, keeping approach shots and putts engaging throughout the round.

Cobblestone’s playability fits a broad range of golfers, from intermediate players to low handicaps aiming to sharpen their techniques. The course encourages thoughtful pace and shot selection over mere distance, with several holes requiring placement over power. The driving range offers unlimited balls for a moderate fee, inviting players to warm up thoroughly before teeing off.

The clubhouse serves as the social hub, featuring a snack bar and friendly staff committed to an enjoyable visit. Although prices have increased in recent years, the course maintains its appeal as a solid challenge within the region. Slow play can sometimes be a factor here, so scheduling tee times thoughtfully is advised to maximize a smooth experience.

For golfers planning a visit, sturdy walking shoes are recommended if you choose to carry clubs, as rain can leave some bunkers waterlogged and certain holes soggy. Cobblestone is a course that rewards patience and precision, set within an unpretentious yet well-maintained environment. It’s a worthy destination for those seeking a test beyond the basics without overwhelming commitment.

Course Highlights

EXTREMELY RUDE RANGE PICKER: First off, let me say that I LOVE the course and generally have great experiences. However, the Range Picker is a complete jerk, and *CALLOUT* management either needs to reprimand or fire him because a lot of the other negative reviews revolve around this older guy. Another golfer (who was actually decent, btw) botched a shot and hit the range cart. The guy immediately drove up to him, hopped out, and angrily said, "Do you think you could hit the ball over that way and not at my cart", saying the golfer hit him and saying a bunch of other rude and uncalled for things. I know this is crazy, but...aren't Range Pickers designed to be protected from golf balls? *GASP* Otherwise, why would they be out there collecting balls while paying customers are actively swinging on the range. Crazy thought, I know. Are we supposed to aim somewhere far right off in the distance instead of the flags for hours while you're out there collecting balls? Also, what does this guy think? The golfer intentionally hit the ball at the cart with malevolence? Get OUTTA here, dude. If this post even matters, I'll correct my review/rating once something is done about that guy's uncalled behavior. It's even worse seeing all the past reviews and knowing this guy's been harrassing golfers this long, and it hasn't been corrected.

Went to the driving range. Had fun. $12 for unlimited balls! Lol..I am sore the next day from hitting so many balls! Update...had a little rain...course was wet...but playable...although we lost a ball in the bunker full of water! Lol

They upped their prices. $50 to walk 18 holes in march is highway robbery. Go play brookwood and $28. This course is nowhere near nice enough for that price.

Consistantly a slow playing golf course. Just short of 5 hours today behind a 5-some. Our 4-some will play somewhere else from now on after many years playing Cobblestone.

Our group played this and it was great! The staff inside was very friendly and nice. The course was long and tough to play. I would suggest this course be on your play list if you ever find yourself in that area. They have a nice club house and snack bar.

What happened to this place, it used to be awesome?! The staff and clubhouse were great but people come to golf.... Practice Green - Good Driving range - Destroyed Tee Boxes - Good Fairways - Grass clippings EVERYWHERE, chunks of grass... everywhere. Bunkers - Unplayable The main ONE... The Greens - basically unplayable, you simply couldn't putt, lack of grass, ball marks, pebbles, you name it and it was happening on these greens... no idea where the ball was going to go. Hope it turns around, I don't think you could pay us to come back and play. Solid chicken salad sandwich...

Overall a nice course, but the greens are in rough shape compared to the rest of the course. Hard to hold greens/even see a pitch mark on most greens. VERY FIRM. A lot of pits/bare spots just filled in with sand. The rest of the course is in great shape. Pace of play can be slow at times, but like all courses depends on time of day/etc. Have had good experiences with the staff there.
