Course Overview

Achasta Golf Club, located just outside Dahlonega, Georgia, invites golfers to enjoy a meticulously maintained 18-hole layout blending natural water features with a primarily flat terrain. This public course offers a compelling balance between approachable play and strategic challenge, suiting a wide range of skill levels. Visitors planning a round should note the strict cart policy limiting two carts per group, an operational choice designed to manage traffic and preserve course conditions. Walking is permitted and manageable given the course’s flat profile, though players seeking comfort on foot should bring supportive golf shoes.

Achasta Golf Club stands as a modern yet thoughtful destination for golfers in the Dahlonega area, melding natural beauty with player-friendly yet engaging routing. I had an amazing experience at the Achasta Golf Community this past weekend. Securing a tee time through Golf Now was a remarkable opportunity, given the rarity of availability. The course, although predominantly flat, offers intriguing water features and multiple hazards, making it an exciting challenge for any skill level. The pace of play moved smoothly, even in the absence of a Marshal. Employees were, without exception, welcoming and pleasant. I'd heartily recommend Achasta for an enjoyable golfing experience. It's a treat not to be missed.

Great golf course, and most play golf destination. Easy as well as very challenging golf holes. The fairways are great and large for most of the holes, and the greens are fast and true. Great practice area and has a wonderful staff. There is a restaurant on the premises. Recommend.

Terrible experience. Booked a Tee time for well over 100$ on my birthday. Was thinking of joining because it’s about 30 mins from my home and thought it would be a great place to spend days with the fam. Get there with my wife who plans to ride along with me (as many couples do) and am told they only allow 2 carts per group and no exceptions would be made. Not sure if this rule is unique to them but it’s a dumb rule. That implies even as a member if my wife wanted to ride with me she can’t because “they stay booked up”. Then they recommend to have my wife stand on the back on the cart. I thought there was no way he was serious. They want people to pay thousands of dollars a year with no intentions of catering to those people. How is that worth a membership? So many better clubs for the money around. For that matter I’d rather play public because you’ll be treated better. The prestige of joining a club is that they are supposed to go above and beyond for you. Not the other way around. unfortunately will not be the club for me.

Took a day of PTO from work and hired a babysitter to enjoy a day in the sun with my wife. She doesn't golf, but likes to ride along. When we arrived to the course however, I was told I'd have to share a cart with a random, and when I explained that I had brought my wife along, the general manager suggested we squeeze her in the middle. Obviously, stuffing my wife in the middle of myself and a stranger for 5 hours on a hot summer day wasn't going to happen. How weird is that for us and how unfair is that to the random? Really odd all around. Naturally, I declined this "offer" and asked if I could pay a fee to have our own cart instead. The GM responded by claiming they didn't have a single additional cart for us to use (yeah, the BS meter just broke). At this point I'm getting irritated. We drove an hour to get there and buddy is talking to me like I was born yesterday. He's also getting closer and closer to me throughout the conversation and is now maybe 8 inches from my face. Maybe that's irrelevant, but this guy was a total weirdo. I've given up at this point and accepted we'd have to go elsewhere, so I asked for a refund and this lunatic starts berating me about not reading the reservation policy which clearly states that singles will have to share carts. Admittedly, I didn't read the fine details but he is adamant that I will not be getting a refund and has somehow now gotten within 6 inches of my face. I don't know if i was more scared of him kissing me or biting me, but I could actually feel the heat coming off his breath and decided the $80 wasn't worth it and walked out. When I got back to the car, I figured I'd give his precious reservation policy a second look and the only semi-related statement in that reads "Groups of less than four (4) players WILL be paired with other pre-paid golfers". Call me crazy, but I don't see how that implies that singles will have to share carts with strangers. Obviously, every course is going to fill out a foursome if they can, but I've been golfing regularly around Atlanta for 12 years and have never even been asked to share a cart with someone who wasn't apart of the same reservation. I didn't go back inside because dealing with Freakazoid wouldn't be worth $1000, but after a good afternoon at good ole Hampton Golf Village I am able to laugh at how bizarre this all was. Plus, I'll just dispute it with my credit card and let them deal with lieutenant sunshine ;)
