Antelope Hills Golf Course

Prescott, Arizona, USANorth Central Arizona

Antelope Hills Golf Course in Prescott offers two distinct 18-hole courses that skillfully balance challenge and accessibility. Set in the high desert, these layouts combine flowing terrain with clear strategic elements, making the venue a reliable choice for golfers at various levels.

Course Overview

Antelope Hills Golf Course offers an inviting and thoughtfully structured setting for golfers in Prescott, Arizona. This public facility features two distinctive 18-hole courses—the North and South layouts—each catering to different skill levels while maintaining a commitment to quality and playability. The South Course, known for its wide-open fairways and forgiving terrain, provides an approachable experience for beginners and mid-handicappers. Meanwhile, the North Course stands as a more demanding challenge, weaving through older, mature trees with tighter landing areas that test precision and strategic shot-making.

Set against Prescott's high desert landscape, the courses embrace a blend of natural elevation changes and subtle contours. The terrain flows gently, integrating native grasses and sagebrush with well-maintained fairways. Bunkers are placed with purpose, influencing shot selection without overwhelming the strategic planning that this course encourages. Greens are consistently praised for their smoothness and responsiveness, rewarding accurate approaches and thoughtful putting.

Players often remark on the balance between challenge and accessibility—Antelope Hills does not rely on extreme length or punishing hazards to define difficulty but rather on thoughtful course design and variety in shot requirements. This balance makes it a dependable choice for a wide range of golfers seeking a satisfying round that hones different aspects of their game.

The on-site Centennial Center offers versatile space for business meetings or social events, adding to the venue’s appeal beyond golf. The club’s professional staff receives commendation for attentive service, making rounds enjoyable with efficient check-in and pace-of-play monitoring that keeps the experience smooth even on busy days.

Walkers will find the course manageable on foot, with gently rolling terrain and thoughtfully positioned resting spots. Golfers should wear solid shoes suitable for high desert conditions and prepare for changing temperatures throughout the day. Driving range facilities support a thorough warm-up though some visitors note limited ball dispensers.

Antelope Hills Golf Course has earned a reputation as a key destination in the Prescott region for public golf, blending natural scenery with friendly, practical play that accommodates a diverse golfing audience.

Course Highlights

The North Course is characterized by mature trees and tighter fairways that require precise shot placement, rewarding accuracy and strategy. Both courses showcase smooth, well-maintained greens and well-positioned bunkers that add interest without overwhelming play. The adjoining Centennial Center provides modern amenities for events and dining, enhancing the overall visit.

Held a venue seminar presentation for this week at the Centennial Center right off hole number 3 on the North course of Antelope Hills Golf Course. I got in the area the day before to check out drive times from the venue to the lodging I was staying at and figured I would play a little golf. James in the proshop was very helpful and nice. He accommodated me even though it was passed cart return time and let me walk the course in the late evening. Every year I attend the Tee Pee Open golf tournament at Antelope Hills, so when I heard my company was having troubles finding venue locations in the Prescott area, I immediately suggested the Centennial Center at Antelope Hills Golf Course. Great staff and team. This place is great condition and lovely traditional older North side with old trees and a South side, which is a little wider and more open for beginner golfers, but also beautifully manicured. Always a must stop for golf play when in the Prescott region. Price conducive and worth it's weight in gold!!!! 5 stars Antelope Hills!!!!

Played the North course on the morning of 7/5 and it was in great shape! Greens we soft, fairways were mowed and the rough wasn't too long. Pace of play at 9:30 was 2 hours on the front (behind a group of 4) and 1.5 on the back(the group in front left after 9)

First time ever playing Antelope Hills South and it was a truly fantastic experience. The course was nearly perfect. Wide open but still very fun with plenty of different shots to hit. The greens were so nice I decided to putt 38 times. The staff were amazing. I was particularly pleased with the diligent attention paid to our group by the ranger regarding our 4 hour pace of play. We were unaware this was not acceptable and so he gently encouraged us to speed it up and then escorted us for two holes, dutifully observing from behind his mirrored sunglasses like Boss Godfrey, to make sure we didn’t misunderstand him or get lost. A lesser ranger would have just stopped by, offered some useless pleasantry, asked if we were having fun or needed anything, or simply smiled and said nothing at all. We felt seen. Really good players would eat this place alive, but for struggling mid-handicappers like us it was just right. I think we’ll try the North course next time, as I hear it’s a little more challenging, but it will be tough to drive all the way to Prescott and not play this one again.

Good course, great people, but unfortunately too busy and they don't give you coins or a self-operated machine to hit on the range. That would be very helpful.

This golf course was not only in immaculate shape, it was really, really affordable. We played the North Course and it didn’t disappoint. Aside from that, Antelope went above and beyond to make my spouse and I comfortable with bringing our 7 month old baby. It was one of the best golfing experiences I’ve had in 25+ years. Thank you to the staff that were so kind and helpful and welcoming! Beautiful course as well!
