Park City Golf Course

Park City, Utah, USAMountain West

Set against the backdrop of Utah’s striking mountain ranges, Park City Golf Course challenges golfers with its narrow, tree-lined fairways and precise greens. This public 18-hole layout blends natural alpine scenery with strategic design, welcoming players of varying skill levels seeking both beauty and challenge.

Course Overview

Park City Golf Course offers an engaging 18-hole experience that commands attention with its mountain-inspired, tree-lined layout. Located at the gateway to one of Utah’s premier resort towns, this public course balances the challenge of narrow fairways with the immersive natural beauty of its alpine setting. The elevation and terrain shape a course that rewards accuracy and thoughtful shot-making, making it ideal for golfers who enjoy strategic play over sheer distance.

The course winds through dense stands of pines and firs, their branches arching over the fairways in places, creating a sense that every shot must find its ideal line. Greens are well-kept and true, welcoming approaches that carefully consider slopes and subtle breaks. While some holes demand precision from the tee, others open up into broad vistas of mountain ridges and the day’s changing light, offering players moments to pause and soak in the surroundings.

Park City Golf Course is approachable for a wide spectrum of players yet holds enough nuance for lower handicappers to test their skills. The conditioning frequently draws praise from visitors, with contouring that requires creativity in shot selection while still being fair to mid and higher handicap players. The presence of tight tee boxes alongside more forgiving options elevates the playability, making it suitable for both competitive rounds and relaxed outings.

The facility also features a well-staffed Pro Shop known for friendly, knowledgeable service, enhancing the overall visit. Located on the same property as a Marriott Autograph Collection hotel, the course offers convenience for travelers seeking a golf-centric stay in Park City. Practice facilities include a driving range with mats, reflecting the practical demands of preserving turf in a mountain environment.

Players should be prepared for some pace-of-play enforcement and the occasional pace marshal presence, which underscores the club’s focus on maintaining smooth flow without sacrificing experience. Comfortable walking shoes are recommended to navigate gently rolling terrain and occasional uphill approaches.

For visitors drawn by dramatic views, carefully maintained fairways, and a course that demands both poise and patience, Park City Golf Course delivers an authentic mountain golf experience that is both demanding and deeply satisfying.

Course Highlights

This course stands out for its alpine environment framed by dense pine forests and stunning mountain vistas. The layout demands precision, with narrow fairways protected by mature trees and greens that highlight subtle breaks. Its proximity to a Marriott Autograph Collection hotel offers added convenience for visitors seeking combined lodging and golf. The course’s pace-of-play policies reflect a commitment to fluid rounds, supported by attentive marshals.

What an amazing Muni course! I got to play here for the first time in June of 2024. We had a couple groups prepping for the Long Day tournament at Wasatch the next day. Course was in great shape! Pretty narrow with all the tree lined holes. Especially from the tips. We liked it so much we are playing it again next week with the same groups before The Long Day tournament! Book you a tee time here soon. You won't regret it!

A really cool golf course. Well maintained and a the staff was very nice. Practice facility was mats which is becoming the standard but I don't love it. A fun course just make sure you can hit a fairway or you'll be paying for a window in some of the most expensive houses in Park City.

“Gorgeous Course, Great Staff, and One Man on a Mission to always be sneaking up on you mid swing” Park City Golf Course is a gem. Seriously — the mountain views are the kind of thing you'd expect to see on a luxury whiskey label. The fairways and greens? Pristine, like someone’s out there trimming them with nail scissors. And the Pro Shop crew? Absolute legends. Friendly, helpful, and somehow immune to the usual Park City snobbery that wafts through town like overpriced cologne. Yes, the green fees are steep. But so is everything in Park City — the prices, the altitude, the number of Teslas per square foot. You accept it. You’re here for the experience. And then... there’s the marshal. Or "player assistant" Oh, Mr player assistant. If you’ve ever wondered what it would be like to be micromanaged by a man in khaki shorts, fedora hat,and a golf cart, you’re in for a treat. He’s less a course official and more a sentient stopwatch. You could be walking briskly, swinging smoothly, and playing faster than the group ahead — doesn’t matter. He will find you. He will scold or scowl at you. And he will ruin your vibe faster than a shanked tee shot at altitude. The guy monitors pace-of-play like he’s auditioning for a Netflix docuseries: “Pace Police: Paranoia on the Fairways.” He hovers. He circles. He checks his imaginary clipboard with the intensity of someone managing air traffic, not a municipal golf course. It’s honestly impressive — in the way that raccoons solving trash can puzzles are impressive. But after your third unsolicited drive-by lecture, you start to wonder: is this a round of golf or a low-key psychological experiment? Bottom line: The course is five stars. The staff is top-notch. But unless the marshal gets promoted to a less interactive role — say, bunker maintenance on the moon — even solid players will think twice about coming back...but only for a minute. Because you know... We love the struggle.

Played the front 9 one day, and the back 9 another. Price was surprisingly fair. Parking was underground.
