Rupert Park Pitch & Putt

Vancouver, British Columbia, CanadaMetro Vancouver

Rupert Park Pitch & Putt offers an accessible 18-hole layout focused on short-game precision within Vancouver’s urban core. Its compact design encourages rapid play and walking, making it a practical choice for golfers honing their wedge and putting skills.

Course Overview

Rupert Park Pitch & Putt presents a distinctive short-course experience right in the heart of Vancouver. This 18-hole pitch and putt takes up a compact urban footprint, challenging golfers to sharpen their short-game skills across a surprisingly varied layout. The course’s mix of well-defined fairways and smaller greens demands precision and touch rather than brute force, an ideal setting for beginners seeking approachable golf or more experienced players focused on refining accuracy.

Though the terrain was originally shaped on wetland grounds, efforts to maintain and improve playing conditions have been evident, especially in recent seasons. Greens have faced challenges with patches and softness, particularly early in the year due to lingering moisture, yet ongoing course stewardship has brought notable improvements. The topography gently weaves through open spaces dotted with mature trees, adding subtle strategic angles while framing the layout within a quiet city environment.

Rupert Park stands out for its practicality as a no-frills golf venue. Unlike sprawling courses, it offers rapid play, typically allowing rounds to be completed in under two hours on less busy days. This pace-friendly design works well for golfers with limited time but still craving real green-space engagement. The course’s compact nature encourages continuous momentum, with tee areas and greens positioned close together, making walking not only feasible but recommended. Firm-soled shoes can help with occasional soggy patches, especially after rain.

Amenities at Rupert Park include rental clubs and a modest pro shop, supporting first-timers and casual visitors. The friendly on-site staff are attentive to pace-of-play concerns, although weekends and peak times may see some congestion with larger groups. For those looking to practice short irons, chips, and putts within a community-focused setting, Rupert Park offers a genuine urban pitch-and-putt facility that balances challenge and accessibility.

Golfers planning a visit should consider weekday or early-morning tee times for the best experience, when the grounds are less crowded and more receptive to clean ball-striking. While the course may not boast lush parkland expanses or extensive landscaping, its straightforward layout and city-center convenience make it a valuable option for sharpening fundamental skills.

Course Highlights

The course’s urban location on a former wetland provides a flat terrain punctuated by mature trees that offer natural wind breaks and visual interest. The design challenges players to execute precise wedge shots and putts, with closely placed holes that speed play and elevate short-game strategy.

The quality was extremely poor for the price. It’s way more expensive than Burnaby’s pitch and putt. The fairways and rough were full of weeds. The greens were in terrible shape — full of dents and patches where the ball couldn’t even roll properly. It kept bouncing and getting caught in the damaged areas. I don’t recommend this one🥲🥲🥲

Course design is interesting and unique, but the greens have been in bad shape since they reopened in March. Staff don’t control pace of play hence the 5-8 people groups clogging up the course leading to 3 and a half hour rounds at a pitch and putt. Still a great course to play on weekdays though. Changed to 4 stars as the conditions have improved, first green is still a temp green but the rest of the greens are not too bad at the moment. Highly recommend heading out for 18 on a weekday or early morning on the weekends

Was pleasantly surprised at the good condition of the course, all the tee off mats were brand new too. I also appreciate that the Vancouver pitch & putts do club rentals until much later than the Burnaby ones.

Really Really Really bad experience, I live in East Van for 9 years. I played there probably 100 of times. First we showed up at 6 pm , no cheaper deal for the sunsets? Charged Us 19$ . Groups of 5 a front Us :( . My body and I decided to skip 5 holes. All the Green are in a bad shape. I promise myself to never go there again

I have been going to Rupert Park regularly as a way to practice my short game and get outdoors for the past 4 years. Contrary to the many "less-than-stellar" Google reviews, I love the place. It is like peaceful oasis in the middle of a city and good value. About two years ago, Nick took over as Greenskeeper, and the condition of the course has improved significantly since then. He obviously cares a lot about it and really focuses on the details! It's true that early in the season it can be muddy for sure. That's because it is largely built in a swamp. Even so, I prefer it by far over Queen Elizabeth Park! Now that the weather is warmer, the soggy areas are mostly dried up. The fairways are in fantastic shape, and the greens are meticulous. I also want to shout out to the friendly staff in the office. They are great. I feel fortunate that we have such a great facility in the city.

Great pitch and putt. They worked hard to repair the greens and it’s all good for summer. Thanks !
