World Tour Golf Links

Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, USAGrand Strand

World Tour Golf Links in Myrtle Beach delivers an 18-hole links-style challenge with coastal winds and closely routed holes that demand precision and focus. This public course offers a test of shot-making alongside a memorable play experience in a vibrant golf destination.

Course Overview

World Tour Golf Links, located in the heart of Myrtle Beach, offers an 18-hole layout inspired by some of the world’s most iconic courses. This public course embraces a links-style design that challenges players with brisk coastal winds and diverse terrain shifts throughout the round. The course’s visual drama comes from its close proximity of holes, requiring focus and attentiveness to navigate safely amid the interplay of play.

The routing moves with variety, blending stretches of strategic driving opportunities with more technical approach shots guarded by bunkers that demand precision. Several greens feature undulations and slopes shaped to test putting skill without overwhelming the average golfer. The course has a reputation for solid drainage, allowing play soon after heavy rains—an advantage for those scheduling rounds during the wetter months.

While the design aims for an authentic links feel, the course welcomes players of all abilities, though lower-handicap players will find particular challenge in managing wind conditions and tight fairway corridors. The maintenance reflects phases of wear, with some tees and bunkers showing signs of needing refreshing; however, the overall surfaces remain playable and present a fair test.

Amenities include a clubhouse with a bar and snack options, which sometimes close early in the day, so planning downtime accordingly is advised. Golf carts are available, though walking is possible for those prepared with appropriate footwear given the course’s terrain.

Players should anticipate potential delays during peak times, as the course’s popularity occasionally leads to slow pace of play and stacking behind groups. Without an on-course ranger, patience and pace management are essential for a smooth round. The course’s proximity to Myrtle Beach’s other attractions makes it a compelling stop for travelers seeking a diverse golf experience beyond the traditional resort layouts.

Overall, World Tour Golf Links offers a distinct taste of links golf on the East Coast, balancing tactical challenges with accessible design for recreational and serious amateurs alike. It stands as a place to test shot execution while soaking in coastal breezes and the bustle of a vibrant golfing community.

Course Highlights

The course features closely situated holes that require alertness and strategic play to avoid errant shots. Its drainage system performs well, minimizing water retention after storms. Architecture draws inspiration from international links courses, offering varied greens and strong bunkering, with coastal winds adding a dynamic element to shot selection.

I was amazing at the drainage on the course. It poured the first for it five holes. We found virtually no standing water the rest of the day. Drive the fairways. Good track.

Played the Golf Course only and take it from a Retired Golf Maintenance guy of 35 years in the business....this course is in the later stages of needing a LOT of Love. An overhaul is well due. Hey, absolutely Love the idea of the layout but signs of a minimal workforce to keep it looking prestige is gone. The Green that resembles #17 green at TPC SAWGRASS is on the verge of being Completely lost due to an aged and failing Bulkhead structure. Just my own personal opinion but if some money is not sunk into this place within the next couple of years it will become only a memory to the people who got to play it and a New Home to the people that will live on the land when it gets sold.

Decent course, but not sure it's worth the price. Tee boxes were very poorly maintained, pace of play was BRUTAL! We had the 4:47 tee and had to finish after 16 because it had gotten dark, but we had been stacked up behind 2 different foursomes all night. Bar also closed by the time we made it to the turn and the cart girl that stopped for us on the front 9 was out of most of her selection. Cool course to play once, wouldn't play again unfortunately

We played the world tour golf course. The staff was lovely. Overall a good experience minus the pace of play was so slow, so there was a lot of play and sit. It took nearly 5 hours. Some of the course holes are very close to each other so you must stay alert to balls being hit from other holes. The bunkers needed some attention…probably due to some recent rain (fortunately we stayed out of those 😁).

The course was in very good shape, particularly given the recent heat. Greens rolled well and the layout was challenging. Absolutely loved the course. Two things prevent a five star review: 1. The tee times we backed up by almost an hour. I don't know if that's a regular occurrence. 2. We were behind two foursomes that apparently were part of the same group. They were tremendously slow and had at least one hole open in front of them. The course has no ranger and no one to move them along. I enjoy golf but I don't like rounds that take 5.5 hours. Particularly given the course's reputation as a tourist attraction, they need a ranger to get slow groups to either pick up and move on or let others play through.
