Williams Creek Golf Course
Williams Creek Golf Course is a public 18-hole par-3 layout in Knoxville, Tennessee, offering a precise, short-game-focused challenge amid gentle hills and mountain views. Its approachable length and well-maintained greens make it suitable for both beginners and seasoned golfers looking for a quick, engaging round.
Course Overview
Williams Creek Golf Course offers a compact yet engaging experience with its 18 holes of par-3 golf, located just off Dandridge Avenue in Knoxville, Tennessee. This public facility caters to golfers seeking a quick round without sacrificing the challenge inherent in maintaining precision on shorter holes. Set against rolling terrain with occasional glimpses of the surrounding mountains, the course blends natural elevation changes with strategically positioned hazards to keep players alert from tee to green.
The layout favors accuracy over power, with tightly mowed fairways leading to greens that demand careful approach shots. While the yardages keep the overall par low, the subtle undulations and well-placed bunkers add a layer of complexity. The putting surfaces can be tricky, testing touch and reading skills especially during warmer months when the grass grows more vigorously. The relatively short length of the holes makes it approachable to players of different skill levels, from beginners eager to practice their short game to seasoned golfers honing their wedge shots.
Williams Creek Golf Course is known for its friendly atmosphere at the pro shop, where staff provide helpful guidance and coordinate cart rentals equipped with GPS technology. These carts enhance navigation through the course’s gentle hills, making walking an option for those who want it without excessive strain. For golfers preferring to walk, closed-toe shoes with good grip are recommended due to some sloped walks between holes.
While the course operates primarily as a par-3 setup, occasional tee boxes require maintenance and may be sand-covered during renovation periods. The driving range offers mats for practice, complementing the on-course experience whether warming up or refining technique.
Wildlife sightings add a pleasant element to rounds, with the surrounding greenery inviting local birds and small animals to share the space. Williams Creek provides an accessible and well-rounded golf outing for players passing through Knoxville or locals looking for a solid practice venue with quick turnaround times.
Course Highlights
This compact par-3 course challenges precision over power, with undulating greens and natural elevation changes. GPS-enabled carts help navigate the rolling landscape, while the proximity to Knoxville’s scenic mountain views and frequent wildlife sightings enhance the playing experience. The driving range with mat hitting areas adds a convenient practice opportunity.

Great little par 3 golf course. It's really well-maintained. People in the Pro shop were really friendly. Carts with GPS. The greens are in very good shape and fairly challenging. We will definitely be coming back this year.

It is an amazing place with great views over the mountains. The golf carts have GPS and are fun to drive up and down the hills. It is great for beginners and professionals. We also saw a lot of wildlife and truly enjoyed ourselves.

Visiting from Charleston, South Carolina and this is an amazing course. Course has pretty good views and the greens were legit. I see other people complaining about hitting off a few mats but they're doing some great renovation and that just comes with it. I also had a cool buddy who stayed on my back for 7 entire holes (pictures). All in all, great course. Highly recommend.

.... and I feel the two stars is high. Good thing is new carts with GPS. Greens are a mess, nobody repairs ball marks, a lot of them have sand to hide the repair plugs, tees are not well marked or yardage accurate....use the golf cart or your own finder. Most courses are set Pro, Average, Senior, Ladies and the yardage is reduced accordingly... not so on this course. If you go out to play ignore the color of the tees. ALso, the cost is high, especially for whay you get.

So played Williams creek today! Nice par three course for the HOT DEAL price on GOLF NOW! Some of the greens are in poor conditions! Some of the tee boxes were cover in sand! Overall they have a nice driving range if you prefer hitting from a Mat!

Whoever is working on the morning 6/4 answering the phone taking tee times is going to lose this place a lot of business.
