Indian Tree Golf Club

Arvada, Colorado, USADenver Metro Area

Indian Tree Golf Club presents a balanced 18-hole public layout with moderate elevation changes and a blend of forgiving fairways and strategic challenges. Its foothills setting invites players of varied experience to engage with Colorado’s natural terrain in a welcoming yet demanding round.

Course Overview

Set against the foothills of northwest Denver, Indian Tree Golf Club offers an 18-hole experience that blends classic Colorado terrain with approachable design. This public course, stretching over 6,700 yards with a par of 71, presents a balanced challenge for golfers across skill levels. Moderate elevation changes weave throughout the routing, lending the layout subtle but engaging undulations that influence club selection and shot strategy. Players encounter fairways that generally favor forgiveness, but some holes demand precision, especially as the course narrows near tree-lined corridors and strategically placed bunkers guarding the greens.

The landscape itself lends character without overpowering; pine and cottonwood trees frame the holes, while the natural contours of the land shape moderate elevation shifts rather than steep climbs. This connection to the terrain creates a flowing rhythm that keeps golfers alert without overwhelming fatigue, particularly favorable for those opting to walk the course. The putting surfaces at Indian Tree are known for their challenge, with slow greens that require careful reading and deliberate pace control.

Amenities are solid for a municipal facility, with a recently upgraded cart barn and clubhouse offering standard services including rental equipment and a modest pro shop. However, practice facilities show room for improvement; the driving range uses mostly worn mats and sand-filled tees, which can affect warm-up routines for serious players.

Indian Tree appeals to local players and visitors seeking a good test without venturing far from the Denver metro area. Its accessible yardage and relatively forgiving fairways make it inviting for mid-handicap players, while low handicappers will find shot-making opportunities that reward accuracy and course management. Busy times often pair slower groups with faster players, which can impact pace of play, so early tee times are recommended for a smoother round.

The course’s setting amid Colorado’s foothills, with open skies and fresh mountain air, delivers an honest and grounded golf outing. Indian Tree Golf Club offers a dependable round with a blend of natural beauty and practical layout for those ready to explore northwest Denver’s golfing options.

Course Highlights

Indian Tree’s design integrates moderate elevation shifts that influence club selection without steep climbs. The course boasts a mix of tree-lined fairways and open shots, while bunkers strategically protect select greens. Though the driving range currently relies on older mats and sand-filled tees, the main course remains well-maintained. Its foothills location offers expansive Colorado skies and natural vegetation that frame each hole with quiet character, creating an inviting yet thoughtful test of golf.

Beautiful course with mostly forgiving fairways but with some more challenging shots. Moderate elevation change and an older feel. A little pricey, but it looks like they're trying to make some good repairs to the course. Greens were super slow and difficult to read.

First and foremost the course seems fun and my friend and I suck at golf. The staff was accommodating, the only issue i had was we were paired up with some really good golfers and we could tell they were patient but bothered by how long we were taking. It became not fun so my buddy and I left before we played our 9. If you know this is standard that's okay but heads up to those that are below amateur casual golfers that you will be paired up with people. Again staff and course excellent.

The course is pretty good for the price and condition is above average for a muni course. What is atrocious is their range ball prices. They have doubled since last year and are double the price of like West Woods which is a nicer course. And this is for the privilege of hitting off their old sagging mats. Last year, they had a good chipping green with bunker. This year…a new cart barn. I guess we know who is paying for that.

I like this course. It has elevated tee shots and it can be challenging. However the range is a 1-star review. It is by far the worst range in Denver area. It’s laughable how bad this range is. It’s 90% sand and it seems like they don’t care about keeping it up at all. Very embarrassing and frustrating.

The golf course is usually in great shape and fun to play. The range is really embarassing. It is the most expensive in the area and probably the worst range i have ever paid to use. However, it would feel unfair to review based on the range. 4 stars. Had to post these photos so people know what to expect...

The course added a really nice cart barn, only to remove half of the practice area. I was disappointed to find the range not only had no grass to hit off of, but instead of putting mats out, you’re left to hit off of sand. They should be charging $5 a bucket, not $16 in its current state. 2 stars because the course looks to be in solid shape, but for someone who used to frequent this place to practice, I’ll go other places for more affordable balls and either grass or mats to hit off of.
