Escena Golf Club
Escena Golf Club offers an 18-hole desert resort experience marked by wide fairways, challenging greens, and striking mountain views. Its approachable layout suits a range of golfers, while desert conditions demand strategic play and focus.
Course Overview
Escena Golf Club stands as a notable public 18-hole course set against the striking backdrop of Palm Springs’ desert landscape. The layout embraces a modern desert resort style, where the natural aridity meets meticulously sculpted fairways and greens. Here, the wide fairways offer inviting lines for golfers of all skill levels, yet the course maintains an edge of challenge through thoughtfully placed water hazards and undulating greens that require precise control. Players can expect a balanced test where distance and strategy intertwine, with the desert terrain shaping each hole’s character.
The course’s setting vividly captures the high desert’s luminosity and rugged charm, punctuated by native desert flora and glimpses of surrounding mountain ridges. As the sun shifts, shadows stretch across the contoured greens, prompting adjustments in club selection and shot shape. The winds that occasionally sweep through add another layer of complexity, demanding focus and adaptability.
Amenities at Escena complement the on-course experience with a well-appointed clubhouse and an attentive staff devoted to comfort and convenience. While the dining options have received mixed reviews, the atmosphere encourages relaxation after play, especially with the desert evening as a stunning backdrop. Families, casual players, and seasoned golfers alike find the course approachable, with the wide fairways inviting safe drives and the undulating greens providing a satisfying challenge for putting.
Escena’s playability shines when conditions are favorable; however, players should be prepared for desert weather elements, including strong sunlight and desert breezes that can influence shot-making. Walking is possible, although the course’s elevation changes and desert ground recommend sturdy footwear and hydration awareness.
For those drawn to a contemporary desert golf experience without crossing into overly punishing territory, Escena presents an engaging round within Palm Springs' rich golfing scene. The desert holds firm but fair, rewarding both patience and precision with every stroke.
Course Highlights

Visited with a group during our trip to Palm Springs. The views were definitely the highlight, stunning setting and a perfect backdrop for a relaxing evening. The food/service didn’t quite live up to the scenery. It wasn’t a bad experience by any means, just a very average one. The dishes were okay. Lovely place for a drink and a sunset.

I am not sure if it was because this course was the one I was looking forward to the most, or we had just played Indian canyons (South) the day before and it exceeded expectations by a lot, or it was significantly more windy and the air quality was terrible (500+) the day we played here vs the other days…but I was a little let down. The course was still beautiful, it was in great shape, the views were fantastic, it was challenging, shop staff was excellent, pace was ok for a Saturday, and we had a great time. I do feel that we found better value for the money at other courses, but I have to say that they did have the most beautiful cart girl to ever walk the planet. Would play again

Absolutely gorgeous course. Playing conditions were pretty good (not perfect). Had a couple coyotes appear but they were harmless. Beware so you’re not caught off guard. Fairways were generally wide, but varying green heights and water hazard placements gave us a fun challenge. Overall, it was nice we had to play it twice — went back same day for a replay and made it through the front 9 again. Staff were great as well. Would highly recommend.

4.5? This place is 5.5 best course I have played in North America. First, the rate was affordable. Service from my uber to the clubhouse was 11/10. Every person I interacted with bag boy, starter, Marshall servers were the most professional I have ever seen by a long shot. I felt like royalty here. But it was affordable. Beers were 7 bucks. Patio was glorious.

The food is tasty but over priced for the portions. But as I drive by now and again I can smell grilled onions and I want to eat there again.
