Course Overview

Landa Park Golf Course offers an 18-hole public layout that balances approachable play with moments that test your precision and strategy. Located in New Braunfels, Texas, this course thrives within a setting that blends urban accessibility with surprising natural elements. Water hazards such as ponds and a meandering river thread through several holes, including standout shots around an island green, creating opportunities for both risk and reward. The front nine demands thoughtful shot-making, with tricky sand traps and undulating fairways guiding players into challenging yet fair positions. On the back nine, the landscape opens up, showcasing a varied topography highlighted by an uphill par-3 that injects elevation change into the routing and makes club selection critical.

Despite its relatively compact yardage, the course’s design keeps pace steady and engaging for golfers of diverse skill levels. Generous tee boxes accommodate beginners, while pin placements and water features add layers of complexity for those seeking to sharpen their game. The greens maintain a consistent and moderate speed, allowing for rewarding putting without overwhelming less experienced players.

Characterized by vibrant Texas hill country vegetation and frequent glimpses of local wildlife, including deer often seen wandering along the fairways, Landa Park brings a connection to nature rarely expected in a municipal venue. The course's upkeep is generally solid, with particular attention to the conditioning of greens and bunkers enhancing the playing experience.

Amenities include GPS-equipped carts that double as on-course scorekeepers and music players, blending traditional golf with modern convenience. While beverage cart service has been noted as inconsistent, players can stock up at the clubhouse before teeing off. Additionally, the course encourages walking, with well-kept paths and manageable elevation changes making for a rewarding round on foot.

Visitors will find Landa Park Golf Course an affordable yet quality golf destination that offers a refreshing mix of challenge, scenery, and accessibility, making it a worthy stop for players traveling between San Antonio and New Braunfels.

Course Highlights

This course is beautiful! The whole course was in great shape. One hole had some construction going on. We will be coming back! The wildlife is awesome and the carts were pretty cool with gps, phone Bluetooth for music and you can keep score.

I really like this course, it’s beautiful, affordable, and playing with deer walking around the fairways is honestly a vibe. But man, the beverage cart service sucks. I’ve played here over 10 times and never once seen it on the course. You can even call the clubhouse and they still don’t sort it out. So don’t count on it, just grab your drinks at the clubhouse before teeing off.

A thesis in mediocrity. The course is well maintained and particularly nice for being in such a dry area and in an extended drought. The carts we clean and mostly well maintained. The staff inside were snippy, and it was as if we had offended them by playing golf. Some odd course rules where we had to have two bags per cart even if they weren't being used. So we rented an empty bag and we rented a set of ladies clubs (no ladies in our group) to tote along. With the rules complied to now we had a bag per person, even if they were for kids who were mostly riding along and played a combined 12 holes (yes we had already payed for each of them to play the full 18). The holes are crowded together and stacked one on another, which resulted in errant shots screaming by too many times for comfort or people playing into and from your fairway due to their poor shots. We were hit into three different times in spite of our pace being 3-12 minutes ahead. Lots of wildlife as well, which helps you forget you're wedged between roads, an amusement park, and a neighborhood.

Easily best city course there is between San Antonio and New Braunfels. Greens are always fast and well kept, and they have challenging hole layouts with river and pond features. Holes 2-5 all have river or pond features with hole 2 and 4 having an island green which is super cool. $54 during prime time is unmatched for the quality of the course. Featured in the photo is hole 10, super uphill par 3, really fun and challenging. Course is pretty short in terms of length but honestly I don’t mind it.
