Course Overview

Located at 901 E Broad St in Cookeville, Tennessee, Belle Acres Golf Course offers a modest but approachable golfing experience with its 9-hole layout. This public course caters primarily to casual golfers and those seeking a laid-back round without the rush of tee times, making it well-suited for players new to the game or anyone looking for a low-pressure outing. The course’s terrain is straightforward, with fairways and greens that provide ample opportunity to work on fundamental skills. While the course’s condition has drawn mixed reviews, golfers who enjoy a relaxed pace and social atmosphere will find value here.

The setting is straightforward rather than dramatic, with a mix of open fairways and scattered bunkers that require thoughtful shot placement without overwhelming the player. Greens are relatively small and present subtle contours, rewarding accuracy and touch on the putting surface. With only nine holes, the layout encourages repetition and improvement over multiple visits, offering a sense of familiarity that benefits those looking to practice consistently.

As a public venue, Belle Acres allows for flexibility in tee times and walk-on play, which is appreciated by locals and visitors who prefer less structured scheduling. The clubhouse includes a bar that receives positive marks for its selection and ambiance, providing a relaxed place to unwind after a round. However, golfers should be aware that smoking is permitted in designated outdoor areas, which may influence comfort depending on personal preferences.

Walking is permitted and often preferred, as the course is compact and manageable on foot. The terrain is generally flat, facilitating easy navigation without specialized footwear, though normal golf shoes are recommended for grip on the greens. While this course is not designed as a championship venue, it serves as an accessible, neighborhood-friendly option where practice and casual play take precedence. Those seeking pristine conditions or a challenging layout might consider alternative venues nearby, but Belle Acres maintains a niche appeal through its accessibility and community feel.

Course Highlights

Though modest in size, Belle Acres challenges players with small, subtly contoured greens and strategically placed bunkers guarding scoring areas. The clubhouse bar provides a popular gathering spot post-round. Its friendly, unhurried atmosphere appeals to golfers who prioritize playability and social interaction over tournament-level difficulty.

Course isn't in the best condition. Layout is kind of strange as well. It has potential to be a nice course, but right now, unfortunately, it's just not worth the money they charge.

Experience was horrible I went to this course with some friends and my boyfriend and had went in and paid for his 18 holes and said he was going to have 2 girls riding in this group with them and the lady in the clubhouse told him that he better make sure we knew how to act and drive on the course then after that I walked in and asked to confirm what he was charged for because it seemed absurd for this course as we’ve been here previously the lady in the clubhouse rolled her eyes at us and I had to ask if he was charged for the 18 holes and 2 riders fees because my sister and I went along with them and she rudely confirmed that’s what it was then we continued to play up until the green on the 8th hole (there is only 9 holes) when a cart with two men drove up to us and just stared for a while then he came up to us and told us we weren't allowed to have our 3 carts on the hole and said that he himself didn’t allow more 2 carts per hole even though there were only 4 golfers playing (which would be 2 full carts = 4 players) as they would know if they saw how many golf bags were on the carts while they were staring even though we were charged rider fees for us to just sit in the carts with them then told us we needed to stay back then they drove by our cart rudely talking about us safe to say we only played 9 yet we payed for 18 seeing how paying customers are treated and reading past google reviews and responses from the business there is no reason to go here when you can pay around the same price for much better courses such as Golden Eagle that have 18 holes, up kept holes and buildings, and good customer service

This was the worst course I have ever played. I would empty my bank account to play ANY other course. It wasn’t kept, greens were laughable, fairways almost invisible, staff was rude, etc. Just don’t go here, it’s a waste of time

Similar price for MANY better courses in town, only worth $15 or less for 9

Golf course is OK for only being 9 holes. The bar is good, food and drink are good, downside, they allow smoking. If the weather is nice, you can sit outside.

I really enjoy coming here. It's one of the best places to not feel rushed or if your faster most people will let you pass no problem. Not having to have a tee time is a plus to me since I never know when I'm going to have time to play. Staff is always nice and down to earth when I go also. I'd give 5 but the greens are a little rough and I feel like 9 should be around 15/16 but I guess if you want nicer greens the money has to come from somewhere. Either way I always enjoy my experience.
