National Golf Links of Ohio
National Golf Links in South Charleston offers a solid 18-hole public course blending parkland style with consistent greens and friendly playability. Its well-kept fairways and approachable layout provide a welcoming setting for golfers of various skill levels seeking value in Central Ohio.
Course Overview
Located in South Charleston, Ohio, National Golf Links offers an inviting 18-hole public layout that combines well-maintained fairways and greens with an accessible playability suited to a wide range of golfers. The course presents a parkland-style setting punctuated by subtle elevation changes, mature trees, and strategically placed bunkers that guard the greens. While the course is known for its consistent fairways and quick yet true rolling greens, players will find a balanced challenge that rewards accuracy and course management over sheer length.
Golfers arriving at National Golf Links can expect a friendly staff and reasonable greens fees positioned as an excellent value among Central Ohio courses. Despite its proximity to local infrastructure, including audible highway sounds in certain holes, the course maintains a lush, green environment fostering focused play and occasional moments of calm reflection. Renovations have been underway in recent seasons to enhance turf conditions and course presentation, demonstrating continued investment in quality and player experience.
The bunkers have attracted mixed reviews; some players note them as less maintained than the rest of the course, which can influence your strategy off the tee and approach shots. Still, challenges across the course rely more on shot placement and reading the greens than on punishing hazards.
The layout is player-friendly while still presenting enough variety to engage low and mid-handicap golfers keen on fine-tuning their short games. Walking the course is encouraged, though carts are available by request. The terrain is generally forgiving, but players are advised to wear appropriate footwear for comfort and stability.
Additional amenities include a well-appointed clubhouse where golfers can relax before or after their rounds. The course's approachable design and reasonable fees make it a popular choice for locals and visitors seeking a dependable public golf experience within reach of the Dayton metropolitan area. Whether you are there for a casual round or to sharpen your game, National Golf Links delivers a solid and satisfying golf outing.
Course Highlights
The course features well-conditioned, quick greens that reward precision putting, parkland layout with mature tree lines framing holes, and bunkers that challenge approach shots though occasionally noted for maintenance variability. Recent renovations have focused on improving turf and playing conditions to elevate the overall experience.

Today we had a foursome in front of us and they all had their own cart. I don't care but they were any slower they would have stopped! The course overall was in great shape. No issues with the fairways. Not sure what's going on with a lot of courses in central ohio including this course. The bunkers are unplayable! Now the greens were on the quick side and putted true. Great value for the money

Very nice course. Excellent fairways and greens. Some of the course has highway noise. Course very plush and in great shape. Greens rolling true. Would recommend.

Friendly staff, one of the nicest public courses in the area with reasonable greens fees. I love playing here. For the price, you can't beat it. The course was in great shape today. They are doing renovations I think, but the contractors (I'm guessing they were contractors) were respectful and waited until we teed off to run the backhoe. I will continue to have this in my rotation of courses.
